🎬 Life Outtakes From The Cardamom Mountains 🦋 Butterflies, Ukuleles, & Bad Humor 🤦

It's not easy creating Hive content day after day when you don't travel and the scenery never changes, but I do my best to keep myself, you all, and my family entertained.

Our Budding Ukulele Star 👩‍🎤

@srey-yuu is on the verge of a major ukulele breakthrough. She knows several chords, and it's just a matter of time before her strumming technique and ability to switch quickly between chords will allow her to play a first song. As I often do, I like to take a picture of someone taking a picture because these are my favorite kind of pictures 🤔.

Fort Relocation 🏰

Monkey-B's previous fort was in the middle of her room and big sister was getting tired of it, so she relocated it to the corner of their shared room, and now this where she conducts secret LEGO building and other things we aren't supposed to know about. What happens in the fort stays in the fort I guess.

Evidence Of Mountain Life 👩‍🌾

We've been working a lot lately on the land to lay the groundwork for a tall perimeter fence to be built. Once this is complete we can finally begin envisioning the potential for a resort, homestay, or whatever our idea will flesh out to be. I'd like to eventually build a few more bungalows, a dorm room, a bar/restaurant/chillin' area, a place for us to live, and a few more hammock huts near the river. Obviously money is required to do that, something we don't have, but we try to make up for it by working until we give ourselves blisters.

Strange Butterfly Meeting 🦋

A very docile butterfly came to visit us in the midst of the chaos, well, in reality it was probably near death and not flying anymore, but seemed happy to walk around and explore the place, even my beard.

I wanted to make sure this butterfly is scared of humans so that it will stay far away from our dangerous species in the future, so I did my best to intimidate it, even acted like I was going to eat it, but none of these things elicited a reaction. I guess I am not as formidable as I had thought if I can't even scare a butterfly. And as I never know how to end a post, how bout'.....and they lived happily ever after?

Lol. The conclusion made it more pleasing to read. 😂 Looks like your beard smell like a flower. Butterflies get attracted to it. 😅

Haha, yes, I will pretend I am the butterfly whisperer. I don't know why this butterfly stopped flying, and I'm not sure what happened to it after our encounter.

I've been a bit overwhelmed lately too, thanks for stopping by. I do believe I saw a post about the new space you'll be developing, can't wait to see how it will change with time. And maybe with the passage of time Srey-Yuu and her ukulele will indeed become the main attractions here.

Some tip for @srey-yuu, any string instrument that has a neck, be it banjo or guitar or violin, in this case ukulele, plucking the strings nearer to the neck gives a warmer sound, where as nearer to the bridge are suitable for clean tone.

I think the little yellow guy already figured you're vegan 🤣 probably can smell it from your breathe

That is a good musical tip, I'll let her know. I have been friends with many players of stringed instruments, but never tried to learn myself, so I'm having to learn a bit to help Srey-Yuu. Once upon a time I wanted to be a reggae keyboard player, so I practiced a bit with some friends and learned some songs, but it never went beyond that.

Wow I wanted to learn my daughter with ukulele too. It's so cute. I can see you have wonderful kids. Living in a mountain is one of my dreams because right now our house is just along the road. Vehicles pass by everyday, big and small...hehee...noisy

Well, in a way we have the best of both worlds. We are in a very remote location, yes, but also our property is along a major national highway, so at least we have quick access to transport because of this even though at times a car doesn't pass by for several hours 😁.

All will change when the border crossing with Thailand near us becomes an international checkpoint with visa services. Hopefully we can professionally accommodate guests by the time that day comes. We do get some noise because we are on the downhill from the mountain pass, so sometimes airbrakes from the big trucks wake us up at night.

Hopefully Srey-Yuu will be a major attraction with her ukulele skills when we are renowned homestay location 😉.

I agree with you the brakes and the noise of the trucks will bother us at night. Hehe

You have a lot of things to share to us even you didn't travel everyday. You are showing to us the simple living of your family. Everything around in your home is perfect for a hive content. 😀
I love the kind of family you have. ❤️
Srey-Yuu will soon become a star performer of your family mountain resort.
I can imagine that those butterflies will become one of the mountain resort attractions. 😀
The Justin's family lived happily ever after. The End. 😁

I am glad you find our lives entertaining, shame none of my family or friends back in the US have any interest in reading my blog. This reminds me how more and more with the passage of time, our Hive friends seem to know us better than our off-Hive friends, I guess cause we all share our real lives here with each other.

I still dream of an ASEAN Hive Summit one day, perhaps 2023 is the year for it 😁.

wooow......
find a butterfly that is rarely found by other people, this time I want to comment on a butterfly that stands on your finger on your beard, the yellow butterfly is indeed very tame with us humans, if we already sweating if butterflies are around us, the meaning of the butterfly will come to us at will, but what makes me wonder and makes me shake my head when I see what you show comes a butterfly it's very amazing,

I'm a butterfly hunter even you already know that, but I've never found a butterfly that tame, if a butterfly that stands on my hand very often shares it, you already know that, but this time you have defeated I'm 9-0 because you can get a picture of a butterfly standing on your beard,

for now I can't say anything because I've lost,, hahaha.... what a spectacular discovery.....

Haha, yes we have so many butterflies around us that hunting is not difficult. It seems like once a week a butterfly comes to visit us and chooses to stop flying for a few days. Perhaps we need some butterfly beds so they can get some rest before choosing to fly again 😉.
