👩‍🍳 Srey-Yuu The Dishwasher & Chef 👨‍👧 & An AI Generated Image Of Us Together 🤖

dfdfdfd.png

Time is an elusive thing lately, but I still intend to keep documenting a bit of daily life along with the help of AI generated images.

Srey-Yuu Has Many Names 🤭

I'll try and make up for my lack of time photography with some witty writing in this post. Srey-Yuu is washing the dishes, nothing new at all, just daily routine, but did you all know I have a natural ability to produce nicknames for anyone in my life.

xcxcxcx.png

First of all, her real name is Sakada, so Srey-Yuu is actually a nickname, but because she's been called this for so many years, it's her real name in a sense. Srey-Yuu loosely translates to "female long time," so yeah, it has a much nicer ring to it in Khmer. Wi-fi, Sreybledore, T-Bird, T-Bop, Yubistan, Yubicon, Yubicorn, Sreycepticon, Madfartigan, Hightower, Judy Johnson, and Larry are just a portion of the nicknames I have generated for Srey-Yuu through the years, all with any AI assistance.

Chef-In-Training 👩‍🍳

Feel free to ask me how any of these random nicknames came into existence, and perhaps you may notice some Willow, Harry Potter, and Police Academy connections. Yeah, my Cambodian daughters are lovers of the Police Academy movies, and I am glad to see the enjoy some humor from the days when I was a kid.

Srey-Yuu's doing some food prep in the above photo, and I only say that because I feel I should at least mention the photos shared in this post so they seem relevant alongside my off-topic ramble. Anyhow, we are headed to Phnom Penh tomorrow for what may be a week-long stay in hopes of getting the documents I need to marry my wife a second time in the country that wouldn't originally allow us to marry, but will now not acknowledge our foreign marriage certificate.

An AI Version Of Srey-Yuu & I 👨‍👧

I am still fascinated by AI generated text-to-image programs, and there are now many high-end AI sites that offer a limited of free image creations. One of them that I like to tinker with on Discord is Midjourney, and that is what I used to try and create a picture of Srey-Yuu and I together in front of our tuk-tuk. It's not bad, the guy definitely looks more like me than the girl looks like Srey-Yuu.

Alright folks, that's it for now, My next post will likely be posted from a guesthouse in a random town along the route to Phnom Penh. Oh, and if you're wondering what text I gave the Midjourney bot to create the above image, here it is......

a Cambodian teenage girl with long hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt standing next to a 40 year old man with red hair and big beard, the man is wearing a big turban, and in the background is a white Piaggio Ape and a Cambodian mountain landscape.

Hahaha, I love the AI image! It makes me imagine how the real story of your family is picked up by some Hollywood studio to be turned into a series (it certainly does have potential for it) but then they make so many changes to the script that Cambodia is replaced by Mauretania, and your Ape by an old Volkswagen T2.

Haha, you're right, doesn't quite look like a Cambodian citizen to me, and the background isn't very Cambodia-esque, but overall not a bad attempt. I probably should've used the work tuk-tuk instead of Piaggio Ape, looks like AI thinks a VW is more exciting.

Madfartigan is my favorite nickname.

Police Academy... Those were the days!

These movies remind me of bday parties at a friend's place, in the mid 90s. The good ol' days, when we still rented films on VHS, for almost every single birthday. The friend it reminds me of was called 'Vincent'.

I wish you best of luck with all the bureacratic bullcrap.

When "Madfartigan" popped into my head I knew it was comedic gold.

I have tried to explain to my daughters what it was like to go to a video rental store back in the late 80s, early 90s, and they just can't comprehend it. I can remember when my parents bought a high-dollar beta tape player, and within months it fell out of fashion and VHS became the king. Thanks for the uplifting comment my friend.

It feels me with nostalgia, although the one I visited in Gouda was probably nothing compared to the way it was in the USA.

Thanks for the uplifting comment my friend.

Always a pleasure.

I for one know how important this is

Hopefully you can soon listen to my voice too, once I start podcasting ;<)

We had to stop going to the one in our town because we lost a cowboy movie called "8 Seconds," and the late fees were something like $80+ USD, so we just decided as a family that renting movies wasn't worth paying $80 for a lost tape.

Looking forward to the podcasting....

I remember you've mentioned once recently about separation of @kidsister account. Now, with the implanted @sakana account name and the reminder of her name is Sakada, added with the recent movie of Wakanda, my mind suddenly blow up with gazillion of combination 😅

That chef look is a 99% copy of Pov 🤣 As I have mentioned to you I'm currently reading some of your family older posts, I can see some of younger version Pov and looks very similar to this lil girl of you 👍

It's funny, they don't look alike to me, but every now and then they are like carbon copies. Now sometimes Srey-Yuu (Sakada) wears her mom's clothes, and a couple of times I've been confused from a distance. I also feel Sakana doesn't look like Srey-Yuu, but when I look at Srey-Yuu's younger pics, they actually look very similar.

Nicknames are too much fun for for me, always looking for inspiration. We'll have to watch Wakanda to give a proper reference, hope there is a goofy character within to use for nicknames. She hates most of all when I give her American names like "Jenny Smith" or "Lisa Jones. 😆"

It is so much fun playing with AI Image generation. I think I look more like the man than my daughter looks like her AI clone.
