A Trip to the Beach!

Today we went to Hervey Bay for the Very Important Purpose of visiting the Fraser Coast Artisan Pasta Bar for lunch, but seeing as how they don't open until 12 and we were there quite early, we took off to a part of the Bay I hadn't yet visited.

The esplanade stretches on for several, several kilometres and usually we go and hang around the pier, surrounded by soft, white sands. Today! We went to a rockier part of the beach.

The tide was out so there were plenty of rock-pools to look at, lots of little crabs scurrying into their hidey holes, and lots of jellyfish that hadn't quite made it back out to sea.

The crabs were super quick and ready to duck and cover and hide, but I managed to capture this little camouflaged guy:

We had about forty minutes to kill, so we just wandered around over the rocks and tried to see if we could find anything interesting -- any interesting shells, dead coral, bird-life, animal-life in general, etc.

There wasn't actually that much down here though. Which I thought was surprising. There wasn't even a single seagull!

There were a few people in the grassy areas having picnics and barbeques, but there were no seagulls or ibises harrassing them. Definitely strange. I guess they're all hanging around the pier further up the esplanade, hoping to steal a fisherman's catch.

My son was enjoying himself though. He was having a great adventure and was pretending to be the "Assassin's Creed pirate looking for treasure!"

He did pick up a few rocks and shells, but none of them seemed to take his fancy enough to want to keep.

I, however, wasn't looking for treasure -- but I did find some interesting-looking rock formations.

Overall we had a nice time just roaming around the rocks. 😊 Then finally it was 12 and we zoomed away to the Pasta Bar, the best pasta in the Fraser Coast!

I mean, look at the kid's face! It's clearly the best. 😅

Om nom nom nom.

They did mix mine and my partner's orders up though. I ordered a mushroom and asparagus delicacy with fettucine, and he ordered one of their new sauces with some gnocchi. And I got the gnocchi, and he got the fettucine.

As a result though, we got our dessert for free! 😁

Tiramisuuuuuu! ❤️😊

Until next time!

Thanks for stopping by! 🍝

It’s probably great to live where it’s always warm. We are now pretty tired of winter and frost. You had a great day. Apparently the child liked

Living somewhere where it's always warm, I just wish we lived somewhere where we could enjoy some cold every now and then. 😅

My treasure was in the form of interesting things to take photos of! 😁 (Although a few gold coins from a secret, long-buried treasure chest would've also been nice)

My son's face in that pic is the best. The best photo I've ever taken of him! Haha! 🤣

Although a bit older than your son, my nephew actually looks a little bit like him.

He makes those funny expressive faces all the time. lol
You just wouldn't wanna hear the noises he makes though. 😅
