Forager ~ a game worth grinding!

Humble Bundle has struck again -- it has given me another game that I've spent the past few months staring at; another game that I've been too lazy to actually buy like a normal person. 😉

This time, that game is: Forager

I mentioned a few months ago that I have a love for grindy games, and that I was sorely disappointed with the grindy sycophant simulator otherwise known as Littlewood. I am pleased to announce that Forager is a good, enjoyable grindy game and from what I've experienced so far I'll be more than happy to use this particular game for those times when mindless-but-pleasing experiences are necessary.

If you enjoy phasing out into your own little world and mindlessly grinding things in games as the hours pass, you understand what I mean. 😅

Awakening upon this resource laden island, how you proceed is up to you. There is no tutorial, you work things out for yourself, and, to be fair, it's easy to work out. Just grab your trusty pickaxe and start removing everything. It all just comes to you, naturally.

You gather things, you craft things, you gather more things, eat some food, and finally gather and craft more stuff. It's perfection. But. There is more than just the gather, create, eat, gather, create, eat cycle...

There are quests to fulfill, skills to acquire, enemies to murder, puzzles to decipher, treasures to find, and more and more land to unlock so you can keep building up and beautifying your realm!

And reaping all the resources from it, of course.

This fairy queen wanted money and lots of it. Typical.

I have no idea how to get over those spike traps and reap the rewards within the treasure chests.

So. Flipping. Cute! Then I murdered them.

Forager is officially one of those games that you open, and then five minutes later you check the time and realise that it's actually five hours later and you need to cook dinner and be a responsible adult.

That, to me, is fantastic. I don't want to close it. I want to keep on grinding. I really wish Littlewood had that power, I wanted to like that game so badly.

My only 'con' with Forager so far is the fact that I have to play it in a little window. You can have it in fullscreen but it looks ridiculously pixelated. Playing it in a window is the only way if you want to keep your eyesight intact.

My base so far. Coming along nicely!

Steam says that I played 7 hours of this yesterday; I am looking forward to playing many, many more! 😃

It's nearly $30 AUD on the Steam Store, and from the amount of enjoyment I'm getting out of it I'd say that it's worth every cent. The stingy part of me, however, is grateful I didn't have to spend that much.

Thanks Humble Bundle Monthly. 😉

Until next time,

Thanks for stopping by!🙃

Looks like a game that can run on the Gameboy Advance or Nintendo DS.
