Path of Exile ~ Sentinel League, finishing Act 10

As a normie playing Path of Exile, it's taken me three days to get up to and complete Act 10. That's about standard for me, although you'd think with the amount of times I play this that I would find a quicker way of levelling. 😅

I know I say it a lot, but it stuns me that people reach such high levels so quickly. When I was level 56, it was announced that someone was first to reach level 98. Crazy!

I've been following Gryph's Detonate Dead Ignite Elementalist build and so far it's pretty fun!

I did have a rather large hiccup during Act 6 where you're supposed to Light the Beacon in order to find your way to the island to kill the giant crab and save Nessa's mermaid arse. At least, I think that's what's going on. I've never actually read the dialogue.

Anyway. The beacon part! Where you guide two totems into a thing to allow the beacon to show up in the first place... that nearly destroyed any enjoyment I had out of this build. I died several, several times, then realised the enemies spawning weren't contributing towards my Vaal Detonate charge, and ugggh. It was painful. Would not recommend in hardcore mode.

I've never had a problem there previously, and I don't know if it was just this build or the fact that mobs of blue enemies can have insane modifiers on them at the moment that makes them extra painful, but this was a massive pain in the arse and I was ready to shelve the character and start a new one.

But I pushed through, eventually.

It's funny. I'm defeating Act bosses faster than ever before, surviving them with ease when I would normally die a couple of times, but the modifiers they've thrown onto the blue and yellow enemies... dayum.

As for the Sentinel League itself, I finally found a couple of the Power Cores that are used to reanimate the drained sentinels. Well, combine two drained ones rather.

I haven't used the power cores yet, I'm saving them for one I have a few more good-modifier sentinels sitting in the stash. And they'd probably be best used once running the Atlas.

I'm enjoying the sentinels so far. I haven't unlocked the Apex ones yet, but I use the Stalkers and the Pandemonium ones.

The Pandemonium ones are good for when you're about to open a lockbox. They empower a group of enemies all at once, so I prepare my Vaal Detonate Dead, get my corpses ready, open the box, unleash the Pandemonium sentinel, then detonate the corpses beneath their feets.

Works pretty good so far! xD

I've found twelve Chaos Orbs before finishing the campaign, which has been nice. I followed @enjar's advice and scoured the trading website for a couple of things before things go up in price, but unfortunately people know what things are worth. 😅

I got myself a Hrinmor's Resolve hat and Doryani's Catalyst sceptre, both of which I can't equip just yet. I need a little bit more strength first, and the weapon requires I be level 75.

Everything else I want for this build? I'm going to need a few Exalted Orbs. 😬

Despite not having all the required gear at the moment, the build is working out pretty well so far. Mostly it's Unearth - Detonate. If there's a more difficult mob, I Arcanist Brand them a couple of times with Flammability and Flame Surge, then Detonate the Unearthed corpses.

I've just gotten my mana mildly sorted too. I'm able to have both Tempest Shield and Malevolence active at the same time without too much mana drain. I do need to drink every so often, but mostly the mana comes back as I get attacked by things. I'm going to need my mana to be a bit more sorted before I can keep Determination running also.

I am a bit squishy though. Need to gear up a little better and cap my resistances.

Finishing up tonight, I've gotten a small way into the Atlas tree. At the moment I'm just aiming for Blight things. Mostly because I like Blight, not because of anything else.

With mapping, the furthest I've gotten before is the start of red maps and I've never defeated or even seen the huge bosses people go on about. Time to change that! 😄

This post is going to be cross-posted into my Kaelci Games website after posting it here on Hive. It defies the purpose of even getting the website which was to use that to post to the chain, AND it gives me more work to do, but until someone from @exxp gets back to me on how to actually post into a community with it there's no point using it in that manner. 🙄

Sigh.

Until next time! ⚔️💥

Enemies and explosions were enormous in beacon part, the mission of saving mermaid and killing giant crab were exciting

And how many hours have you accumulated in this game?

I have rookie numbers compared to others. I've accumulated about 550 hours over the past five or six years. I've spent more in single player RPGs. 😅
