Path of Exile ā€” Crucible League Progress!

avatar

It's been a week (and a day) since the Crucible League launched in Path of Exile, and thus marks the first time I have levelled a character to 90. šŸ˜ My previous best was an 89 I just could not get any further.

In Path of Exile: when you die, you lose XP. I mean, unless you're playing hardcore in which if you die, you die. šŸ˜ While I appreciate hardcore mode in some games, in this type of game I would rather ignore the feature... unless, of course, there's a ye olde #poecomp happening.

Anywho. I made it past 89 for the first time! It's a momentous occasion! Level 90! Wow! Maybe I'll be 91 by next week. šŸ˜‚ As mentioned in my last PoE post, I am following one of Wrecker_of_Days' builds ā€” Reaper Elementalist ā€” and I am loving it.

It doesn't do quite as much damage as some other builds out there, but it does a decent amount and I'm tanky as hell. I love it.

Also. I'm getting so many uniques this league. They keep dropping in threes and I'm just... šŸ‘€... none of them are any good for me, but they're quickly finding a home in my stash. šŸ˜›

This League, I haven't really done much of the league mechanic yet. I'm just not finding any good wands or shields that I would like to put a crucible skill tree onto.

So, as a result, I'm not really doing the event as much. I'm starting to think that I should just do it for any old weapon I may have picked up to vendor just for possible Crucible-related currency drops.

Speaking of currency, I found my first Divine Orb while I was delving in Niko's Mine! šŸ˜…

It popped up very unexpectedly while I was dashing through the tunnels after the mine cart, partially ignoring most of the enemies as I barged through them. When it dropped, I had to quickly backtrack and grab it then catch back up to the minecart. šŸ˜… Teach me not to zooooooom on ahead.

Divine Orbs are one of the main currency types. It used to be Chaos Orbs and Exalted Orbs, now it's Chaos Orbs and Divine Orbs. So this is a very nice find that I'll keep safe until I need to trade with someone.

At the moment in the game, I'm still just diddling about a bit, doing a bit of everything, not sure what I want to do most just yet.

Honestly, I have played over 800 hours of this game, and I still don't really know the basics. Like, I read about people defeating big arse bosses and I don't even know how to get to them? I've defeated the Maven before, the World Eater, I know how to get to those bosses. Are the other ones just from collecting the hundreds of shards?

I've done this much of my Atlas tree soo far. This time around I focused mostly on getting things that would help me with maps, plus a few extra chances to get more Blight, Delirium, Expeditions, and possible Niko quests because I like delving.

20230416064354_1.jpg

I've also done this much of Kirac's Vault, but I'm not going to bother buying premium to get my premium rewards. It's so freakin' expensive. 300 coins? That's $30 USD and a good $45 in my Australian currency. NO THANK YOU. Most "battle passes" are around $15-20 so this is just absolutely ridiculous.

I understand that this is a free to play game that is in no way pay to win whatsoever so they need what money they can get from cosmetics and this crap, but seriously. $45 for a season pass? No.

I feel dirty knowing what I've already spent on this game with its ridiculous pricing. You'd think a New Zealand-based gaming company would also set their pricing a bit more... regionally, instead of in overpriced USD.

So, at the moment I'm just mapping. I can't get much further yet because I've run out of Vaal Orbs I need to corrupt my red tier maps so I can get my Atlas points.

Kirac isn't giving me the ones I need. So I find myself just plodding through maps I've already done and just hoping I find what I need. There's been hardly any Vaal side-areas also, and last time I found Vaal Orbs was thanks to the Ritual mechanic and I just bought them with the Ritual currency.

I'm finding plenty of cool things this time around though, but what I would really like is to find some decent weapons with which I can put a Crucible tree onto.

I'm picking up alllllllll the Convening Wands and various shields, trying to find ones comparable or better than the ones I've currently got equipped, but most are garbage.

I tried looking at the trade website to see what other people had available. Turns out my current weapon is worth 30 chaos orbs so it's already considered decent. Just doesn't have a decent tree. And I'm too pov to just throw 30-50 orbs at a time on a hundred weapons.

Unless I spend the next couple of days just farming chaos orbs... hmmmmmm. šŸ˜…

Anywho, that's about it for my Path of Exiling at the moment.

I've reached level 90 for the first time. I've found more uniques than I ever have before. RNG seems to really like me this time around! Except when it comes to finding maps I haven't done yet, or finding Vaal Orbs to corrupt the ones I do have.

It's been a pretty good run so far. šŸ˜Š

Until next time! āš”ļøšŸŽ®

Oh dayum look at that skill tree! Seems like you've got many options there!

Laughs what I don't quite understand is that you reached level 89 and just couldn't go any further... What do you mean by that?

You die, you lose XP, and you can't level!

Yeah okay... But can't you gain a few xp by killing some creeps hiding in the bush? šŸ˜‚ I dont know I've never played the game.... I had a friend who loved it but it never got my attention

I mean, you could spend three or four days grinding mobs a waaaay lower level than you just to get higher... but... why? lol, that's no fun.

You literally need like 500 million XP to get from 89 to 90 and on a slow and careful run you'll get about 10 million per hour, HAHA. xD

Honestly, I have played over 800 hours of this game, and I still don't really know the basics.

Then this game is probably harder than the Dota 2 and the League of Legends combined. You can learn the basics in both of these games in a few hundred hours. I currently have 947 hours in League of Legends: Wild Rift (the mobile version of League of Legends), and I am enjoying even the ranked games (currently my rank is Emerald IV).

Good luck and have fun.

Have a nice day and have a nice weekend.
All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

I tried Dota 2 and could not get the hang of it at all. šŸ˜… It's a very difficult game with far too many things to memorise to play properly. I think Path of Exile is a little less complex than that, but that could also be because I'm not really a MOBA person.

It's not really that Path of Exile is complex, per se, but there's just sooooo many things in the game it's hard to keep track of it all unless you've done it before.

Gratz on 90! Looks like you are having quite a lot of fun. I might have to stop being lazy and check this league out. I feel a bit behind now skipping out on these taking a long break from the game.

Thanks!! šŸ˜

Yeah, I was feeling a little bit burnt out on it too... took a few Leagues off šŸ˜… it's good to get away from it from time to time... and I'm still very muchly looking forward to what Path of Exile 2 will bring to the game!

I have felt the feeling of playing many hours and not understanding basic things that can make a difference, it happened to me recently with a game. Path Of Exile has always caught my attention but at the same time I feel that it is kind of complex and intense and needs many hours to start and take it seriously, but soon I hope to give it a try.

It is a very complex game, but at the same time, it's easy enough to hop into and have a look šŸ˜Š if you give it a go, I hope you like it!

Honestly, the very first time I played it, I only played for maybe an hour before just closing the game for five years, haha!! But in the end, I got right into it. šŸ™‚
