World of Warcraft — Lich King Classic approaches...

The pre-patch launch for Wrath of the Lich King Classic dropped a few days ago and that meant that I felt compelled to jump back into Azeroth.

I kind of burnt out on it previously. I got my rogue to level 67, but I was getting tired of the slog. And it wasn't helped by the incessant stream of jerks swooping down upon me on their level 70 mounts and taking advantage of the fact that I was already in combat or had just finished combat so they could finish me off. I was sick of it. So instead of getting mad and swooping down to low-level areas myself and killing every low level Alliance character I could in retribution, I rolled my eyes and closed the game.

I hate pvp servers.
And it annoys me that it seems I'm the only one in my friends group who can't stand it.
But, if I want to play with my people, I have no choice. Ugh.

So I logged onto my rogue and stared in horror at the Lich King Classic talent tree for her. I've never really played a rogue much before so pretty much everything looked terrifying. And since it had been two months since I last played, I had completely forgotten how to play this character anyway.

The warrior, however, is a class I've played since the original Wrath of the Lich King and I know it inside and out. So I made a new one and decided to no-life the next month.

At least warriors are much improved now, levelling-wise. I feel as though if I had started playing in Classic or TBC instead of Lich King, I would not have mained a warrior. It was god-awful before, but feels so much more playable now.

Of course this means I have to level up all my cooking and fishing again.

Because I'm a masochist.

But achievements make it all better!

The Joyous Journeys buff has been active for over a month now and apparently you can disable it at innkeepers...

WoWScrnShot_090322_203902.jpg

What kind of deranged individual would want to disable it??

Madness. Absolute madness.

I like to think that with this buff and a good, old-fashioned no-life playthrough, I'll be ready to roll come September 27th when Wrath of the Lich King Classic properly launches.

It's like I'm wearing heirlooms! But... without the stats of the heirlooms. 😅

I just wish they'd add back the Dungeon Finder tool. Apparently they're not going to because that, in their opinion, is when World of Warcraft stopped being as social.

Well, in myyyyyy opinion, this is the expansion that everyone wants to play. This is before Cataclysm ruined everything. This still feels like old-WoW. This is what people want; WoW Before Cata. And not implementing the dungeon finder just means that a good chunk of people are never going to play through dungeon content because who the hell has time to sit there shouting in LFG for three hours?? Hoping to find a tank, or a healer? When they could just press a button and continue doing stuff while waiting?

Redonkulous.

Anyway, if you'll excuse me, I must return to my endeavour of no-lifing a warrior to ascension and glory. ⚔️🤣 And very likely going crazy as soon as I come across higher level Alliance players who just want to ruin my day.

Until next time! 🙂

😅
You can't imagine the amount of people I've seen making facebook groups to level up together, xD I don't know what this expansion has that everyone likes, without a doubt it was one of the best in its time.

I can only speak for myself 😅 but I think that everyone is looking forward to this particular expansion because this was basically the peak of the game. Everything just "worked", it was fun, the raid mechanics weren't too over-the-top like they are today, each crafting profession had a purpose, the levelling experience was still challenging but no longer a horrible difficult 3-month-long slog... and for me, it has extra nostalgia because this expansion was the very first time I had played it back then. 🙂

This game looks amazing. Sorry to hear about the hostile pvp guys. That giant bat your rogue is riding in the last pic looks insanely badass! Also I love the screenshot of your rogue alone with the scary-looking pine trees in the background!

Cheers 🙂 the screenshots are of my new warrior 😅 my favourite is the one of her sitting in the tavern... she looks pretty menacing there, glaring down at the camera, haha!

Apologies, I confused myself and called her a rogue. I agree she does look very menacing sitting in that tavern, almost like a warrior queen seated upon a throne! I've never played World of Warcraft but it looks super intricate and fun :)

It is pretty fun! 😊 (when you're not getting attacked by people many, many levels above you, haha!!) 😅

Of course this means I have to level up all my cooking and fishing again.

Screw that. It was always easy and happened by itself. But do they still have weapon proficiency? Mastering staves, maces and unarmed as a priest was quite a challenge, even with use of certain trick that became available with WotLK. 😉

I just wish they'd add back the Dungeon Finder tool.

So... they first introduced that great feature, then made it cross server, then even applied to raids, and you say it is now gone? What?

(Edited)

Cooking's quick enough; Classic fishing is a time consuming depth of despair that is thankfully better in Lich King. 😆

They introduced Dungeon Finder with Wrath of the Lich King. In the Classic version that's being released in a few weeks, they've removed it with no intentions of bringing it back because, for some reason, they have the belief that it denies people the ability to be social. It's still available in current up-to-date WoW, however.

But do they still have weapon proficiency?

Indeed they do!

I prefer PVE servers over PVP in 100% of the cases. I mean, I have no problem with playing PVP (I quite enjoyed dying a lot in the Black Zone in Albion), there are games where simply playing PVP is absurd. In ARK you can easily get people or clans that have been playing for years and have stupidly absurd animals, so they have a sort of anarchy.

I save all that by just playing PVE and building my house near them :P

I would prefer play on a pve server but none of my friends are on those, haha.

I'm fine with pvp if I'm choosing to pvp. Battleground? Cool! Arena? Sure! Out in the wilds being ganked by someone 30 levels higher than me? No thanks. xD

WOTLK is definitely my favorite expansion. If I wasn't addicted to Lost Ark, I would probably give it a try
