Enjoy free painting in the Banten artists' jamboree
Hi everyone! This time I want to share a little experience, again about the beach. Somehow, the beach has played a significant role in my life, even though I don't live near the beach. Honestly, I'm a travel lover. But when faced with the choice "Kev, do you want to go to the beach or to the mountains?" I'm going to the beach because I like the color blue. It's not that I don't like mountains.
Four years ago, on August 5 2017, I had the opportunity to take part in the Banten artists' jamboree organized by the Banten arts council. I was here to represent the Dapoer Sastra Tjisaoek (DST) art studio. I'm not alone, there are 7 DST members who participated in the Banten artists' jamboree. The event was held at Kelapa Gading beach, Cinangka, Serang district, Banten province, Indonesia for 2 days 1 night. Yes, we spent the night there.
There are quite a number of events taking place there, but I will discuss only one that is quite memorable for me, namely free painting. This activity involved about 25 painters from all over Banten province. They were asked to paint anything, and look for spots around the beach area. As I recall, the painters were given 3 hours to paint. The results of his paintings will be auctioned at the end of the jamboree. While the activity was taking place, I walked around the beach to see the painters in action. It's great to see people painting. It's like there are energies running through my senses. You know what I was thinking at the time? I feel like creating a work of art, whatever it is.
Finally I decided to make a photographic work. My understanding of art is very simple, whatever feels beautiful to my senses, I consider it a work of art. Because art is beauty, right? That's just my interpretation as a layman in the art world.
Because of an unstoppable passion, I don't care about various theories about photography. I just wanted to immediately quell the turmoil within me at that time. So, here's a painting of a simple camera attached to my smartphone.

maybe because I live in an urban area, nature becomes something irresistible to my senses 😌
For only 3 hours, those are masterpieces. I hope all the artists/participants were able to get a good price for their works.
of course, the paintings were partly auctioned off to guests from the local government. some were bought by the head of the Banten arts council. Btw, thanks for your appreciation 🙏🏽
