Follow the tourist sign! Pázmánd Stone Gorge and Zsidó-hegy
I'm an addictive hiker. I’ve had withdrawal symptoms all summer because I don’t like hiking at the heat of 40 degrees. But now the weather is very pleasant, 20-22 degrees during the day. My hiking shoes are already torn and the soles are starting to come off, but they can still be used for a while, I hope.
I was in a place yesterday where I had never been before. To tell you the truth, I have never been here before, I only saw from the window of the bus the protruding rocks of Pázmánd that make up the "Jewish" Mountain (Zsidó-hegy). I’ve heard there are healing forces in that area.
I didn't hesitate, I got on the bus that took me to Pázmánd. I landed in the village, so I had to walk back to the village nameplate.
The village is very nice, tidy and fortunately there are no modern black and white condominiums like nearby Velence. I hope they won't.
I wasn’t hungry, so I just admired this beautiful pizzeria from the outside.
A charming pizzeria in Pázmánd , named "Green Nest"
After 10 minutes of walking I was already at the end of the village and saw the red sign leading up the mountain.

I followed the sign, which was visible for a while, but then disappeared. In the meantime, I saw beautiful gardens and vineyards. Turns out I’m going in the wrong direction already, so I had to go back.
Wineyards
Barberry
Quince
I finally found the sign, which was barely noticeable.
Bouldering...what does it mean? Boulders are big rocks!
Do not miss this hidden sign!
Well, this is the first one, with a big tree.
Then I arrived at the rock gorge.
I had to climb through these rocks!
The mountaintop was close by, but the steeper the trail. I could only climb on all fours. I never thought of going back to Pázmánd on this path.
Whatever I achieved — roots, stones, branches — I used to hold on.
It was worth the effort, I had a beautiful view.
The mountains of Buda can already be seen in the background.
In the other direction you can see Pázmánd

From here, my journey continued to Nadap, where I’ve been to in the spring and photographed anemones. I will return to Nadap in October, when the leaves of the trees turn colorful.
Advice to avoid inconveniences and accidents
- Only go hiking in hiking boots!
- Hiking stick is also recommended!
- Take enough water with you!
- Dress in layers!
- Watch your every move! Look at your feet if you’re on hard, stony terrain.
- Do not go alone to an unknown place and do not deviate from the designated path!
- Learn to read a map. GPS is often unreliable because there is no field strength in many places.
