Beautiful Sunday: boats and sunset on the river Chao Phraya, Bangkok.

On the way back from my day trip at an old temple, I took the express boat towards Sathorn Pier. The Chao Phraya River was very busy with boats of all sizes. It seemed tourism has much improved as I could spot tourists on several guided tour along the river. These boats made such strong waves clashing onto the express boats and small ferries crossing the river.

The evening was very pleasant with dimming sunshine, cooling breezes and the arrival of the sunset. I was very excited at the prospect of colourful sunset. I missed seeing a dramatic sunset by the Temple of Dawn. It would be nice to get a good view of the sunset from the boat.

The small tug boat was pulling fully loaded long boats full of sand. In the past, these boats could be hauling rice to the port.

The water was very choppy but the exuberant energy kept me feeling high and fearless. I was trying not to miss my chance to take photos of the Temple of Dawn.

I did get some photos of Wat Arun at sunset but the boat was moving too fast and far from the temple. The light was dimming fast making taking photos very difficult.

The boat arrived back at the pier in less than thirty minutes. This gave me plenty of time for walking around the mayrket around Robinson and to get some snacks and do some shopping. Traveling by boats can become very addictive for me. I wished we could have been abled to travel everywhere in Bangkok like prople did almost two hundreds years ago.

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Stay strong and cheerful.
