Beautiful Sunday: orchids after rainy season and changes in life

I have been rushing around today so I am late at posting #beautifulsunday hosted by @ace108 again. There is no use to try to compete with time any more, I know I have been defeated more than a dozen times. So, the best thing is to get on with life and sudden changes in schedules each day. There seems to be external factors which keep throwing sudden diversions and changes to my daily life. It’s perhaps the sign of a new cycle of time, the age of Aquarius in which unpredictability would become the norm.

The orchids in my garden seems to try to cheer me up by suddenly blooming like crazy after rainy season. They probably know that their colours and vibes are very refreshing and healing to me. They remind me of the vendor at the Friday flea market who sold me a small cluster of orchids for about fifty cents several years ago. This original bunch of orchids has expanded into several clusters of orchids around the garden. We even gave quite a few shoots away to people who would love to have some of these simple orchids. I wonder if the lady vendor got her jab and whether she’s still alive these days.

The Friday flea market had disappeared altogether since the pandemic started. Lots of vendors no longer had a means to earn their livings. I used to buy freshly cut flowers from her every Friday to support her small stall and occasionally I bought some orchids. I wish the flea market could be revived one day. The orchid vendor would have been very pleased if I could show her the pictures of these orchids.

My orange cats used to climb up the trees and sit on these orchids. They probably thought they were perfect seat for a lookout post; they could see what’s going on outside the house and look out for any passing stray dogs. I just let them sit there as long as they wanted while my gardener kept chasing the cats down from the trees! These orchids are very hardy and they wouldn’t mind these cats sitting on their sharp leaves for a few minutes. Lately, only the smaller cat, Kwan, would climb the tree sometimes. Joan had given up climbing trees since the evening I had to climb up to the top of the cork tree to rescue him from flimsy branches. I wish Joan would have the courage to climb trees again.

The sunshine was so bright in the morning which made these orchids even more colourful. I had to pause my breakfast as soon as I saw the orchids in the morning sunshine. I just had to run to take some photos. Time and sunshine waited for no one; so I had to seize the opportunity and make the best of the present. I must say this year has totally changed my perception of time and nature of uncertainty in our life. So many things happened to disturb my mind; I have witnessed hardship, disappointments, fear, despair, sickness and unexpected difficulties. Luckily, my good karma has protected me from any serious or life threatening consequences.

The lucky protection over my head has made me feel that I have to give back to humanity and all sentient beings. My close friends know there’s something strange around me from time to time, a kind of energy from outer space. Sometimes I invited my friend to stand close to me so she could feel that energy too. She would shivered and gave out a sharp exclamation. My Feng Shui teacher-friend used to request my help whenever she encounters very negative energy. The last time we met; she told me about an accident and her bad health. That’s the hazard of a Feng Shui master who could get into serious troubles when encountering a very dark house. I had no idea why she asked me to meet her for lunch; only after our lunch that she started complaining about her pain. So, I did my meditation and knew what to do.

After the session, she told me that she has given up her Feng Shui career forever. That came as a shock to me as she was the best in her field; she was honest, dedicated and had top notch integrity. Her clients were rich overseas bankers, local tycoons and VIPs. The other German healer friend sat quietly with us without trying to persuade my friend to change her mind. She was somehow deeply affected by that ‘thing’ for a few months. I had no idea that she couldn’t use her psychic ability and her collection of powerful crystals to deal with this case. It must have been quite frightening during that period of confusion. Nowadays, I try to help stray animals whenever I could. That’s my way of accumulating good karma and positive energy. I try to go with the natural flow as much as I could; we are too small to interfere with the law of karma. I really need to get back to daily meditation and contemplation as the future travail will require utmost steady cool head with lots of energy and compassion. My orchids will continue to cheer me up!
