My friend adopted two stray cats! เพื่อนมีแมวจรจัดสองตัวในบ้าน

My friend invited me to his new home the other day. He has moved to settle down in a real estate project in Nongkhai last year. He told me that he brought his old cat with him to the new house but his cat just disappeared into the fields after a few days. Then a month later he had a very skinny and dirty cat outside his house. He started to feed this thin cat and now they have become inseparable.

She came to him pregnant while she was only about four months’ old. The young cat gave birth to three tiny kittens which starting dying one by one. My friend was very sad that he couldn’t save the kittens. The young mother cat sat on her kittens so two died as a result of having inexperienced mother! He had to feed the only kitten with syringes every hour for seven days, but the last kitten died as the mother cat refused to nurse her baby. My friend took the sick mother cat to the vet and she had to stay at the animal hospital for two weeks.

Six months later this cat turns out to be very healthy and beautiful. Now she’s pregnant so my friend has been giving extra nourishing food to his cat. He’s determined to keep them safe this time. But I think he overdid it with the feeding. I am afraid it’s going to be very difficult for this young cat to deliver her fat kittens. My friend might have to ask the vet to help with the delivery.

She’s a very shy cat with lovely eyes. My friend told me that she’s a very quiet cat and very considerate. He thought she could be dumb as she hardly made any noise. It was a relief when she managed to make tiny strange noise. I was trying to take her photos but she kept running to hide. So I had to be on the floor trying to take her photos. Her abdomen looks really too big and heavy! Her babies must be very big and fat.

Then last month, a very dirty and young ginger cat came to watch my friend’s cat. So, he started feeding him everyday. Now this male ginger cat looks very clean and handsome with soft silky fur. He turns to be the opposite of the mother cat; he’s an extrovert and loves to be with people. He’s called “Som” which means orange. He is very possessive of the mother cat.

เมื่อเร็วๆนี้เราไปเที่ยวบ้านเพื่อน ที่แอบทำตามคำแนะนำของเราโดยการย้ายบ้านไปอยู่ที่หมู่บ้านจัดสรรที่หนองคาย เราแปลกใจมากที่เขาตัดสินใจโดยไม่ได้บอกเราเลย แต่เขาก็เลือกทำเลยบ้านได้ดีและบ้านที่นั่นก็สร้างอย่างดีมากด้วย นับว่าเป็นบุญเก่าของเขา เขาเอาแมวที่อยู่ด้วยกันมาสิบกว่าปีมาด้วย แต่พอย้ายมาอยู่บ้านใหม่ แมวก็หนีหายไปจากบ้าน สักสองเดือนต่อมามีแมวจรจัดอายุไม่ถึงหกเดือนมาขอข้าวกิน

เขาไม่อยากเลี้ยงแมวอีกแล้ว จึงปล่อยให้แมวนอนอยู่หน้าบ้านหนึ่งสัปดาห์ แมวก็ไม่ยอมไป เขาเลยตัดสินใจเลี้ยงแมว แต่มารู้ภายหลังว่าแมวท้องมา ก็ต้องดูแลช่วยแมวท้องแรกคลอดลูกแมว แม่แมวเลี้ยงลูกไม่เป็น ไม่ยอมเลี้ยงลูกและนอนทับลูกแมวตายไปสองตัว ส่วนคัวสุดท้ายก็ป่วยตาย ทำให้เขาเสียใจมาก แม่แมวก็ป่วยอีก ต้องพาไปหาหมอหยอดนํ้าเกลือหนึ่งสัปดาห์ หมอบอกว่าน่าจะทำหมันแมว แต่เขาอยากได้ลูกแมวชุดหนึ่ง ตอนนี้แมวท้องแล้ว เขาก็บำรุงมันจนอ้วนเดินขนาด เราเกรงว่าเขาต้องพาแมวไปให้หมอทำคลอดให้

นอกจากนี้ก็มีแมวส้มมาติดแม่แมวที่บ้าน เป็นแมวจรจัดที่ไม่ได้รับการดูแลเลย พอมีอาหารดีๆกิน มีบ้านนอนสบายๆ มันเลยไม่ไปไหนแบะเพื่อนก็แปรงขนให้ ขนมันดูดีมาก เจ้าส้มมีนิสัยร่าเริงขี้ประจบและชอบเข้าหาคน ต่างจากแม่แมวที่ขี่อายและกลัวคนมาก เจ้าส้มตามเฝ้าแม่แมวตลอดเวลา เราต้องหมอบลงพื้นเพื่อแอบถ่ายรูปแม่แมว แต่เจ้าส้มนี่ชอบนอนท่าแปลกมาก ไม่เหมือนแมวที่บ้านเราเลย แม่แมวเริ่มคุ้นกับเรามากขึ้น ตอนแรกมัยวิ่งไปหาที่ซ่อนรอบบ้านเลย เจ้าส้มมาหาเราทันทีที่เราเรียกมัน เราอยากรู้ว่าแม่แมวจะออกลูกกี่ตัวและมีสีอะไรบ้าง
