I have a brutal fascination for forts and castles anywhere in the world. Just imagining that building full of soldiers defending themselves with cannons from pirates and privateers is extremely interesting.

I'm not trying to romanticize the situation, it must have been a heartbreaking and very difficult situation, but at the same time full of ingenuity due to the same need to survive and protect the city.

The photographs I share are of the entrance to the magnificent castle of San Carlos de Borromeo in the city of Pampatar. To enter it is necessary to go down a suspension bridge that allows you to walk over a pit, which at the time is filled with sea water.

Both formats, color and black and white, seem interesting to me, both highlight important codes that can be easily appreciated.
