Conociendo el arte de Amazonas + Artista Raiz campos [ESP/ENG]

Quería compartirles el día de hoy sobre una de las cosas que más me llamó la atención de la ciudad de Manaus - Amazonas. Cuando llegué aquí el cielo tenía un color azul que no había visto antes, sentía que la ciudad me decía bienvenida entre nubes y un sol radiante.

Las paredes del lugar están llenas de arte de colores maravillosos, dibujos que reflejaban a nuestros indígenas, animales, flores, ojos, universos, selva y todo mezclado con un sin fin de figuras, casi que amor a primera vista.

Inmediatamente pensé en esos momentos de adolescencia cuando mi grupo de amistades, pintaban las paredes de mi pueblo, hacíamos competencias de skate promoviendo el arte, la artesanía la buena música como Rock and roll, reggae, hip hop y el rap.

Había visto muchos grafitis por las calles pero no conocía a los artistas, solo seguía algunos por sus redes sociales. Un bello y soleado día fui a llevar currículos por el centro y me encontré con Raiz Campos un amante de los grafitis plasmando en una pared un arte alucinante en honor al Cacique Raoni uno de los principales líderes y defensor de la amazonia y de sus pueblos nativos, Este hombre tuvo muchos contactos con personas importantes que lo ayudaron en su lucha, como el cantautor Sting Ex- guitarrista de la banda The Police que en los años 1989 se juntaron para ser una gira por 17 países para divulgar el mensaje de preservación de la floresta Amazónica, hasta en el 2020 varios pueblos indígenas se manifestaron a favor de la premiación de Raoni al gran nobel de la paz en ese mismo año, cosa que ni sabía y fue muy interesante investigar.

Raiz Campos es un artista que ha dado color a muchos estados de Brasil y también ha llevado su arte a otros países como Uruguay, Estados Unidos, Alemania. Un chico enamorado de lo que hace, llevando la floresta en sus pinturas. Nacido en Bahía, pero criado desde sus 3 meses de nacido en la región de mineración pichigua dentro de la reserva indigena, ya que su padre trabajaba en ese lugar como topógrafo. Acostumbrado a la energía de la floresta, sus frutas, sus animales, y los indígenas, Raiz Campos decidió pintar sus vivencias, Este talento o arte ha sido su entrada y pasaporte. Arte que le gustaría llevar a todos los lugares posibles. Al inicio de su trayectoria como artista no tuvo mucho apoyo, muchas personas creían que estaba medio loco por querer dedicarse a eso, pero algo dentro de él le decía que todo iba a funcionar. así que él se enfocó en su creencia que iba a tener éxito en eso, en su potencial.

Su padre es el principal motor para dedicarse al arte ya que desde niño él veía que su padre pintaba cuadros a la iglesia, mercados, retratos y más. Entonces él creció viendo el arte muy natural lleno de pinceles, tintas, revistas. En su adolescencia la cultura del grafiti, la música de los géneros hip hop, reggae, rap que acompañaba todo ese movimiento lo impulsó. El explica que al principio no fue fácil porque no tenía los recursos y le costó mucho invertir o tener patrocinadores ya que los sprays son caros, pero aun así no se dio por vencido.

El dice que el spray es fácil para él, ya que no tiene que estar mezclando colores y la cultura de los pichinga (indígenas) empezaron apoyarlo y fue usando su arte para dar un buen mensaje y plasmar su cultura en la aldea, sus amistades y así fue creciendo.

El primer mural que vi de Raiz Campos, ni sabia que era de él la verdad, yo vivía cerca de la bola de coroado y veía esos murales que adornaban el lugar y era una mágica conexión, el segundo que vi en persona era una mujer indigena con la tierra en las manos, por lugar llamado punta negra, que tampoco sabía que era de él, hasta que vi su documental. También vi otro que está por cachoerinha y el homenaje al Casique Raoni, que son pocos para los trabajos que ha hecho en la región.

Conocer en persona a Raiz Campos me hizo ver que es un artista muy humilde de corazón, con una energía maravillosa y lleno de buena vibra. Cuando fui por primera vez al mural, hablamos de cosas de la vida, de no rendirse, de tener fe incluso cuando nadie creyera en uno, simplemente porque hay un Dios que está dispuesto ayudarnos en nuestro recorrido, palabras que le agradezco ya que me sentía muy triste ese día. Pasaron unos 3 o 4 días y regresé al centro hacer unas entregas, les lleve un salgado de pollo sabroso para que merendaran él y sus colegas, que por cierto son chicos muy genial ploris.graffit y fixo_graffiti también artista del grafiti y por cierto disfrutaron mucho mi pan relleno. compartimos fotos, videos, palabras y hasta una canción de Natiruts que me me motiva llamada: - “Tudo vai dar certo”. Raíz Campo comentó con mucho entusiasmo que uno de sus sueños era pintar un mural en un show de esa banda de reggae, me pareció demasiado genial que compartiera eso y desde aquí le envío los mejores deseos. Uno de mis sueños es cantar la parte en español de “sorri sou rei'' de esa misma banda (risas). ¡Soñar no cuesta nada!, pero sería más que genial poder hacerlo realidad.

Raiz dice: - no es para todo el mundo grafitear ya que aguanta el sol y más el de Manaus es fuerte, conversar con las personas, tener amor para poder hacer el trabajo y a veces que el pagado sea solo con sonrisas, las personas que se dedican a este arte tienen amor por lo que hacen, no todo el tiempo son pagados sus trabajos, pero una de las cosas es que cada grafitero lo hace para dejar su mensaje y también para divertirse, Raíz usa esta técnica como terapia ya que en algún momento de su vida tuvo una depresión y el grafiti fue su motivación y su cura, Una de sus parte favorita de todo este mundo del graffiti es dejar una semilla para animar a otros artistas a pintar y dejar su mensaje con conciencia, dejar tipo un legado, en pocas palabras trascender en el tiempo dejando amor, amistad, un mensaje espiritual en cada pintura y cuidar de la amazonia.

Cuenta que a sus 19 años en ese momento en que dejaba la universidad por el grafiti el siempre quiso conocer a esa fuerza suprema llamada Dios y no por que se lo contara un pastor, padre o predicación, él quería saber por sí mismo que era Dios, y fue Dios quien le mostró que esa era su misión así que fue con todo, a pesar de que la familia se oponía porque no creían que él podía vivir de su arte, un día abrió el libro sagrado en algún párrafo que escogió al azar, solo queria un mensaje o una dirección y decía “Mismo que tu padre y tu madre de carne estén en tu contra, yo que soy tu padre celestial y estoy de tu lado”. Eso le dio fuerzas para irse de casa, agarró su colchón y su guitarra y desde entonces está viviendo de eso porque le funcionó y se dedicó a estudiar sobre eso. Que si las paletas de colores y un montón de cosas. dice que se siente ligado con la madre tierra porque le ha dado todo. Amazonas es su gran heroína y su mayor inspiración.

Raíz Campos tiene mayor respeto por la cultura indigena y siempre ellos estarán plasmados en sus trabajo.

Vamos hacer que su arte de la vuelta por el mundo y sea una inspiración para muchas personas y artistas de los diferentes países que alcanza esta comunidad de #hive.

The walls of the place are full of wonderful colorful art, drawings that reflected our indigenous people, animals, flowers, eyes, universes, jungle and all mixed with endless figures, almost love at first sight.

I immediately thought of those moments of adolescence when my group of friends painted the walls of my town, we did skate competitions promoting art, crafts and good music such as rock and roll, reggae, hip hop and rap.

I had seen a lot of graffiti in the streets but I didn't know the artists, I only followed some of them through their social networks. One beautiful sunny day I went to take resumes around downtown and I met [Raiz Campos](https://www.instagram.com/raiz. campos/) a lover of graffiti painting on a wall an amazing art in honor of Cacique Raoni one of the main leaders and defender of the Amazon and its native people, This man had many contacts with important people who helped him in his struggle, This man had many contacts with important people who helped him in his struggle, such as the singer-songwriter Sting, ex-guitarist of the band The Police, who in 1989 got together to tour 17 countries to spread the message of preservation of the Amazon rainforest, even in 2020 several indigenous peoples demonstrated in favor of the award of Raoni to the Nobel Peace Prize in that same year, which I did not even know and it was very interesting to investigate.

Raiz Campos is an artist who has given color to many states of Brazil and has also taken his art to other countries such as Uruguay, United States, Germany. A boy in love with what he does, bringing the forest in his paintings. Born in Bahia, but raised since he was 3 months old in the Pichigua mining region inside the indigenous reserve, since his father worked there as a topographer. Accustomed to the energy of the forest, its fruits, its animals, and the indigenous people, Raiz Campos decided to paint his experiences. This talent or art has been his entrance and passport. Art that he would like to take to as many places as possible. At the beginning of his career as an artist he did not have much support, many people thought he was half crazy for wanting to dedicate himself to this, but something inside him told him that everything was going to work out, so he focused on his belief that he was going to succeed in this, in his potential.

His father is the main driver for him to pursue art because as a child he would see his father paint pictures at church, markets, portraits and more. So he grew up seeing the art very natural full of brushes, inks, magazines. In his adolescence the culture of graffiti, the music of hip hop, reggae, rap that accompanied all this movement pushed him. He explains that at the beginning it wasn't easy because he didn't have the resources and it was hard to invest or have sponsors because the sprays are expensive, but even so he didn't give up.

He says that the spray is easy for him, since he doesn't have to mix colors and the culture of the Pichinga (indigenous people) began to support him and he started using his art to give a good message and to express his culture in the village, his friendships and so he grew.

The first mural I saw of Raiz Campos, I didn't even know it was his, I lived near the ball of coroado and I saw those murals that adorned the place and it was a magical connection, the second one I saw in person was an indigenous woman with the earth in her hands, in a place called punta negra, I didn't know it was his either, until I saw his documentary. I also saw another one that is by cachoerinha and the tribute to Casique Raoni, which are few for the work he has done in the region.

Meeting Raiz Campos in person made me see that he is a very humble artist at heart, with a wonderful energy and full of good vibes. When I went to the mural for the first time, we talked about things in life, about not giving up, about having faith even when no one believes in you, simply because there is a God who is willing to help us in our journey, words that I thank him for as I was feeling very sad that day. About 3 or 4 days passed and I went back to the center to make some deliveries, I took a tasty chicken salgado for him and his colleagues to have a snack, who by the way are very cool guys ploris.graffit and fixo_graffiti also graffiti artist and by the way they really enjoyed my stuffed bread. we shared photos, videos, words and even a song by Natiruts that motivates me called: -"tudo vai dar certo". Raíz Campo commented with much enthusiasm that one of his dreams was to paint a mural at a show of that reggae band, I thought it was too cool that he shared that and from here I send him the best wishes. One of my dreams is to sing the Spanish part of "sorri sou rei'' by that same band (laughs). Dreaming doesn't cost anything, but it would be more than great to make it happen.

Raiz says: - it is not for everyone to graffiti as it withstands the sun and more the sun of Manaus is strong, talk to people, have love to be able to do the work and sometimes that the paid is only with smiles, people who are dedicated to this art have love for what they do, not all the time are paid their work, but one of the things is that each graffiti artist does it to leave his message and also to have fun, Raíz uses this technique as therapy because at some point in his life he had a depression and graffiti was his motivation and his cure. One of his favorite parts of this whole world of graffiti is to leave a seed to encourage other artists to paint and leave their message with conscience, to leave a legacy, in short to transcend in time leaving love, friendship, a spiritual message in each painting and to take care of the amazon.

He tells that at 19 years old when he was leaving college for graffiti he always wanted to know that supreme force called God and not because he was told by a pastor, father or preaching, he wanted to know for himself what God was, and it was God who showed him that this was his mission so he went all in, even though the family was against it because they did not believe he could live from his art, one day he opened the holy book in some paragraph that he chose at random, he just wanted a message or a direction and it said "Even if your father and your mother of flesh are against you, I am your heavenly father and I am on your side". That gave him the strength to leave home, he grabbed his mattress and his guitar and since then he is living from that because it worked for him and he dedicated himself to study about it. He says he feels linked to mother earth because she has given him everything. Amazonas is his great heroine and his greatest inspiration.

Raíz Campos has the greatest respect for the indigenous culture and they will always be reflected in his work.
