Underwater bags and freedom

This week has been brutal to many more than they had ever expected. Even the biggest whales who normally do not fall into the traps of the market even had some glitches there. Was it the greed that took over, or was it really that difficult to predict?

When I was talking to some friends about this all they said they were not going to sell anything because that would mean their investment would have been cut in half already. But on t hither hand, sometimes it can be the wisest of ideas of course to cut the losses and star over from where the market leads us. On the other hand…that moment isn’t now anymore, there were plenty of moments where ther were enough opportunities to say goodbye to some of the bags, while they were still in the profit. But that is when greed took over , and we were thinking we would all become millionaires.

For me the easiest way to deal with this is to think about the fact that the bags are literally never underwater. This is all from blogging, all from putting in the time as a side hustle, putting in the gaming because I am waiting for the bus in the meantime. So in that perspective, how underwater can you actually be?

Hive has all provided this. When I look at my Hivestats I can see that I have made over 9000 Hive through blogging. Count in the fact that you lose some while doing stupid investments on stuff that doesn’t work out (gaming or a guess on a moon meme token), but on the other hand blindly stepping into some relatively unknown tokens which have done well over the amount of time. This means Hive does give me the freedom to explore the cyberspace of the blockchain.

To me the freedom is there because when I mess something up, it will not cost me a sandwich, it will only have cost me something of my time, and that makes such of a big difference mentally. That means don’t have the same feeling like me friends who are never willing to step out. For me I can let it ride for a bit because it was free money in general.

This means I don’t have to feel bad for taking a guess here and there every now and then, and this is how some things really worked out. Rune for instance was one of those investments. Bought low at that moment, it went sky high. Did I sell? No not entirely, but on the other hand, it is still higher as when I bought it.

Cardano was also one of these. I bought it with some blogging Hive, it went sky high and I sold. That feels good.

On the other hand the question rises…What would have happened if I had left it all in Hive?. But that would have been so much less fun. We need some fun in our lives

The fact that you are using funds made with just spending time on and around Hive and seeing these funds as "disposable" make decisions in these times a bit easier! I guess it is similar when you invest solely with money you could technically, as @dragosroua puts it, dump in the trash and be ok with it. I guess we are in a fortunate position :-)

Let's keep calm and keep Hiving :-)
