How to Add $SPOT as a Custom Token in MetaMask & Withdraw it from Publish0x

Publish0x is a crypto agnostic platform where both authors and readers earn in Crypto. Crypto Agnostic means that it does not have its own currency. At the time this post is written, the authors are rewarded in ETH, AMPL and since December 2022 SPOT

In this post we will try to withdraw our earned $SPOT via publish0x using MetaMask.

Please note that $SPOT can only be withdrawn on chain.
To be able to do it, you should add it as a custom token in a wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet.

In this tutorial, I will show you how I did it using MetaMask.

.1. You need to have MetaMask installed. (please always make sure you use official sources for anything related to downloads/extensions/wallets etc.
.2. Go to CoinGecko and check out the token's link: https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/spot

.3. You can either click to 'add to MetaMask'

Where you will immediately be prompted to add it to MetaMask

.4. Or you can do it manually, by going to MetaMask, clicking import and then copying the address from Etherscan

After you will have successfully added $SPOT, you will be able to spot it in MetaMask

Add your on-chain address and confirm the change (you will receive an email by publishx0x)

Click on withdraw and you will see this screen:

This request took place 3 days ago, and I immediately took this reply. I was worried because February 18th, I received an email where the payment would be made on March 6th.

However, I was very surprised to see this email only 1 day after!

So, in 24 hours, I had the spot in my MetaMask wallet

After that, you are able to swap the tokens into anything you wish. I may swap them for ETH.

Thanks for this helpful guide. I was thinking about what to do with my SPOT tokens on Publish0x, but have now withdrawn them using your guide. I hope they will turn up in my wallet in a few days.
