Meta Threads are coming to EU - December 14th. If you are thinking to join, here are some pros & cons to consider!

I cant believe its 5 months already since I wanted to try the new META threads, but failed to do so. Why? Because they were not made available in Europe yet.

You may ask me: Why try them in the first place? It is META ... wake up. They just want to take your data and use it to get rich(er).

I know all that. I was the one writing about Meta is trying to sell us our own data a few weeks back.

But let's be realists here.
We still need web2, even if it is just to cancel it :)

What are threads?

Meta Threads is a social media app developed by Meta Platforms, Inc, designed to be a text-based conversation app that allows users to post and share text, images, and videos, as well as interact with other users’ posts through replies, reposts, and likes.

Even though for the first 5 months the Threads are only available in the US, it is worth mentioning that it managed to reach 1 million users in just 1 hour after its launch, and 80 million in the first 2 days. Impressive.

If you are thinking of creating an account, here are some things to consider, especially if you use social media for your business.

Advantages:

• You will have the potential to increase your audience reach.
• The potential to reach a large audience via text-based conversations.
• There is a plethora of male young audience (recent statistics show 68% male users)
• It's integrated to Instagram, and you immediately will have Instagram's followers.
• It is still a relatively new platform, so if you have a business, you will have more room to grow your audience and reach.

Some disadvantages to consider are:

• You cannot delete your Threads account without deleting your Instagram.
• Not clear use of user data
• Lack of performance data/metrics.

If you are in Europe, you can see when you will be able to use threads, using a cool way in your Instagram app!

Log in to your Instagram Account - click 'search' and write 'ticket'

I saw that for all my accounts, the date is 14th of December 1:00 pm EET

So its now official.
After the 14th of December, Europeans will have access to META threads.
Will they take this opportunity or will they pass? It is not so trendy any more.

As for me, I will definitely create them for the accounts I handle professionally, but I have not yet decided if I will do it for my personal account.
