A walk in the vicinity of Three Crosses Square in Warsaw / Spacer w okolicach Placu Trzech Krzyży w Warszawie

Today, while walking around Warsaw, I reached the Three Crosses Square. In the middle of the square there is the Church of St. Alexander. It was built in a classicist style. On one side of the church you can see the columns with Corinthian ornaments in the form of leaves. The building resembles the Pantheon in Rome because it was modeled on it.

Dzisiaj spacerując po Warszawie dotarłam na Plac Trzech Krzyży. Po środku placu znajduje się Kościół św. Aleksandra. Został zbudowany w klasycystycznym stylu, więc podpierają go kolumny z korynckimi zdobieniami w formie listków. Budynek przypomina Panteon w Rzymie, bo był na nim wzorowany.

There are many exclusive shops and restaurants at the square, as well as a lot of tenement houses, including Under the Griffins tenement house, visible in the photo below. It was built at the end of the 18th century, and on its roof you can see sculptures of griffins, that is, according to Wikipedia, "a mythical animal usually depicted with the body of a lion and with the head and wings of an eagle". On one of the balconies of the tenement house, I noticed Greek columns. The building is also decorated with many reliefs. It looks amazing.

Przy placu znajduje się wiele ekskluzywnych sklepów i restauracji, a także dużo kamienic, w tym widoczna na zdjęciu poniżej Kamienica Pod Gryfami. Powstała pod koniec XVIII wieku, a na jej dachu można zobaczyć rzeźby gryfów, czyli jak podaje Wikipedia "mityczne zwierzę przedstawiane najczęściej z ciałem lwa oraz z głową i skrzydłami orła". Na jednym z balkonów kamienicy zauważyłam greckie kolumny. Budynek zdobi też wiele płaskorzeźb. Bardzo mi się on podoba.

You can also see modern buildings in the area. For example, I liked the one with a lot of glass elements. I like the street where this building stands. Especially when I'm riding a bike, because you can go downhill. And there is a beautiful park downstairs.

W okolicy można też zobaczyć nowoczesne budynki. Spodobał mi się na przykład ten, z dużą ilością szklanych elementów. Lubię uliczkę, przy której stoi ten budynek. Szczególnie, gdy jeżdżę na rowerze, bo jest tam fajny spadek i można sobie zjechać na dół, z górki. A na dole znajduje się piękny park.
