Dia de los Muertos, that is All Souls’ Day in Mexican - exhibition / Święto Zmarłych po meksykańsku - wystawa

I have always liked the traditions related to the Dia de los Muertos in Mexico. People painted skulls on their faces, but in such a cool style - with various colorful additives, for example in the form of colored dots painted around the eyes, and they wore colorful clothes. This holiday was somehow happy, music was playing, reminded me of the carnival. When I was at the Ethnographic Museum yesterday, I saw a great exhibition that shows what such a celebration looks like. You can see them in the photos in this post.

This is the oldest Mexican holiday. Families meet each other to remember the dead, show them respect, and visit cemeteries and churches. A very interesting tradition is to create an altar for the dead.

To najstarsze meksykańskie święto.

The altar of the dead is set up in the house and on such an altar food, items are placed that the deceased person liked. The altar has several levels, most often two, which symbolize heaven and earth. I admit that I like this way of celebrating the memory of a deceased person. There is something nice about it.

You can see example altars in the photos.

Na zdjęciach możecie zobaczyć przykładowe ołtarze.
