Grand Harbour From Above: Another Beautiful Day at Upper Barrakka Garden.

Another day of our beautiful Malta adventure that brought us to one of the most historic places in Valletta named the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

There are two Barrakka's in Valletta — the Upper and the Lower Barrakka.

I already posted about the Lower Barrakka Gardens- it was more quiet, beautiful viewing harbour and romantic. And now it's all about the Upper Barrakka.

For our previous days exploring different parts of Malta, we were excited to see this famous garden.

When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was how elegant the place felt. It was the most visited tourist place because of its beautiful view from the 3 cities.

It was quite busy and even from afar I saw people waiting their turn to have a good place to take photos of the grand harbour, sitting on benches and simply enjoying the scenery.

We just walked around the gardens and enjoyed lovely view. Everything was in one place from its architecture design, the statues, colorful gardens, harbour, arches, pathways and the beautiful blue Mediterranean Sea gave the place a relaxed atmosphere.

Malta was known for its honey colored limestone. Every stone building, its walls have a strong historical feeling and while the greenery balances the setting place to feel calm and welcoming.

While the terrace was busy with people capturing photos, we took out time to capture the beautiful arches, columns and the blue sea.

The classic Mediterranean architecture has its character and was already noticed throughout the city.

My favorite part was the terrace overlooking the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities. The harbour was busy, we could see boats and cruise ships below us.

We stood together looking across the harbour and enjoyed being there. A moment that was important for us in our adventure.

Another beautiful moment and historic features in Upper Barrakka Garden was the Saluting Battery.

A cannon firing that every tourist became interested in. From the terrace of the Upper Barrakka, you can watch it for free. And if you want a close-up experience, visitors need to pay for a small entry ticket for 3 euros for adults and children for 1 euro.

We stayed on the terrace and I know how the cannon fired with a loud boom that echoed around the Grand Harbour.

Even though we were watching from above, we were surprised how powerful the sound was.

For Aya it was exciting and she was happy about the loud sound. As we expected she's a kid and for us it hurts my ears.

Upper Barrakka Gardens gave us all of the experiences in a day. From beautiful views, architecture, history and it's like we're part of their history in Battery Salute.

Another ordinary day had turned into another beautiful family memory. Our trip to Upper Barrakka Garden was not about the famous attractions but about being together.

I will treasure our moments together by capturing photos and recording video. Because one day when they grow up and have their own adventures, they will reminisce about our family trips.

I am simply grateful, for another place and another day together. Thanks for another beautiful memory from Malta.
