Blessed day my dear Needleworkers, I wish you an excellent start of the week. For my part I tell you that my needles have had no rest; I have been very active knitting new projects in the little free time I have had these weeks.

They have been very busy and stressful days, that's why every time I have a free moment I take the opportunity to knit a little bit and drain a little bit so many emotions.
As I have already said in other publications, crochet is my best therapy besides prayer.

The truth is that when I look at the past, in my most difficult and stressful moments, a needle and a ball of yarn have always been present.
Knitting allows me to direct my attention, concentration and energy into something creative; it gives me space to reflect while my hands do their work with the stitches.

Today I present to you a project that I started over the weekend and that I still haven't finished. It is a baby clothes. This project fills me with tenderness and excites me every time I work on it.

My love for crochet started when I decided to knit a blanket for my future son, who was not yet born.
At that time I found some embroidery magazines with cross stitch patterns in which there was an image of an angel that I really liked, so I decided to knit a blanket using the embroidery pattern.

The result was magical, because while I was knitting I took advantage of that time to pray and reflect, the figure of the angel came out quite well for being the first time I knitted with embroidery patterns.
I hope someday to be able to show you this special blanket and tell you the whole story.

Those first experiences with crochet captivated me, however I never dared to knit clothes, so none of my children could wear a garment knitted by me when they were babies. That is why knitting baby clothes is a pending task for me.

A few weeks ago I found out that the youngest daughter of a very dear cousin, who sadly passed away a few months ago, is pregnant. This fact made me very happy but also very nostalgic, as I remembered that the first knitted dress that my daughter had, was given to her precisely by my cousin.

With these mixed feelings, I felt that I had to knit something for this future baby as a token of affection and love for my cousin.
So this is the perfect opportunity to fulfill the pending task of knitting baby clothes.

Since I'm still on my challenge of not acquiring any more yarns for a while; I resorted to my magic yarn box and found two balls of cotton yarn, one of them was complete but the other was the rest of a previous project. I loved the colors and texture, I think they are ideal for a baby garment. The detail is that we still don't know the sex of the baby, but I was so anxious to start knitting that I decided to look for some ideas of unisex outfits that I can knit with the amount of yarn I have.

That's how I found some video tutorials to knit a "bombacho" type bodysuit, this garment is also known as "pelele" or "ranita", and it can be knitted for both girls and boys.

In this post I show you pictures of the finished yoke and in a future post I will show you the final result. I am so excited to knit this kind of tender garments that I am afraid I will break my challenge of not buying any more yarn; there are a lot of beautiful things that can be knitted for babies.
