MWM|| CROCHET GRAPES 🍇🍇

Blessed beginning of the week my dear and appreciated NeedleWorMonday colleagues. After a nice and relaxing weekend where I was able to celebrate Mother's Day with my family, I have returned recharged with energy to share with you a new project. It's about small bunches of crocheted grapes.

I found this project while I was looking for gift ideas for Mother's Day and it seemed very different from what I have knitted so far, so I decided to give it a try. To start with the project I located my thinnest crochet needle, the balls of pabilo yarn in the colors, lilac purple and green; and I set out to learn how to knit these cute grapes with the help of a You tube tutorial.

This small bunch of grapes start from the leaves. The first thing to knit are two leaves. Each leaf is knit on a 12 chain stitch base. For round number two the following sequence is worked: 1 single crochet, 2 half double crochets, 2 half double crochets, 2 double double crochets, 2 half double crochets, 2 half double crochets and 1 single crochet (This sequence is done on both sides of the base chain stitch).

The next step is to join the two leaves and knit the base of the cluster by knitting a fan of 5 high stitches separated by a chain.

To start with the grapes, knit a popcorn stitch of 5 high stitches in each separating chain, to have a total of 5 popcorn stitches in the first round. Each popcorn stitch will simulate a grape and will be separated by two chain stitches.

In the second row, knit 4 popcorn stitches, that is, 4 grapes, and in each row subtract one stitch until you reach only one grape.

In this simple and quick way I was able to make these little bunches of grapes that can be used as decorations for the fridge just by adding a little piece of magnetic tape on the back.
I really liked the end result, I was delighted with this new popcorn stitch, because it is very useful to give a little relief to the fabric.
I hope you liked my project, thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
