MWM|| Embroidery Pretty Kitten

Blessed day dear friends of NeedleWorkMonday, from the bottom of my heart I wish you all are very well, enjoying this little vacation. As for me, I have been very busy lately and I haven't had a chance to do any crafts. That's why I have taken advantage of these holidays in my country to make some projects. As is the case of this cute kitty that I share with you today.

This project has a very particular history. It is dedicated to my good friend Yelitza, a woman who loves animals, but with a special love for kittens. Last year also for her birthday I knitted her a little cell phone bag with the silhouette of a black kitten representing her youngest kitten named Felipe. A few months later her older kitten named Linda passed away, this kitten was with her for more than 10 years so her loss was really sad.

This year on the occasion of his birthday I wanted to make him something that could remind him in a good way of his beloved Linda. So I thought of making her an embroidered kitty. I found a pattern that seemed simple and very suitable and I started to work with it. I must confess that it was not as simple as I thought, because I made some color adjustments to the pattern to make it look much more like the original kitty.

Something that helped me a lot to avoid getting lost or confused with the pattern was to draw it on a grid sheet while I was embroidering, this way I could mark the squares I had already completed. When I completed the original pattern, I started adding more yellow and more orange stripes, since Linda had a lot of stripes.

This pattern, although it looks very simple, took me much longer than expected. I was embroidering all day to have it ready for my friend's birthday, just when I finished and was about to embroider the kitty's name, there was a power outage in my area and I had to finish my project with the help of the flashlight of my cell phone. The last step was to place it inside a white picture frame, but unfortunately I couldn't take pictures of it because I couldn't see anything at all.

<p My friend was pleasantly surprised with her gift and thought it was a nice touch with which she can remember her beloved kitty Linda. For me it is always a pleasure to please my loved ones with a present made with my hands, but I confess that due to overwork and health reasons, it is more and more difficult for me to deliver on time. It gave me great pleasure to greet you, thank you all for reading, greetings and blessings.
