Lactancia con COVID [ESP-ENG]

Di positivo al COVID, una noticia que me tiene asustada no solo por todos los casos y muertes qué hay, si no por contagiar a mi bebé que solo tiene un año; jetter( mi hijo) gracias a DIOS no a presentado ningún síntoma, solo mi pareja y yo.

I tested positive for COVID, news that scares me not only because of all the cases and deaths but also because of infecting my baby who is only one year old; better (my son) thank GOD he has not presented any symptoms, only my partner and me.

Debido a la angustia, de no contagiar a mi bebé me puse a investigar, acerca de la lactancia con el virus, y si es seguro que él bebé no se contagie de COVID; y la respuesta es NO, todos los estudios están profundamente a favor de la lactancia materna.

Due to the anguish of not infecting my baby, I started researching about breastfeeding with the virus, and if it is safe for the baby not to get COVID; and the answer is NO, all the studies are deeply in favor of breastfeeding.

Hasta la fecha, no se a dectectato la transmisión de casos activos de COVID a través de la lactancia, ademas afirman que generan anticuerpos para combatir la enfermedad lo que motiva a seguir amamantando.

To date, the transmission of active cases of COVID through breastfeeding has not been detected, and they claim that they generate antibodies to fight the disease, which motivates them to continue breastfeeding.

Apesar que los estudios informan que no hay manera de contagiar al bebé a través de la leche materna, comencé desde el momento que supe que tenia COVID a tomar precauciones; cómo usar máscara permanentemente, lavarme las manos con agua y jabón antes de tocar al bebé, tener a mano siempre un alcohol, desinfectó todas las áreas que haya tocado, evito tocar ojos/nariz/boca de mi bebé.

Even though studies report that there is no way to infect the baby through breast milk, I started from the moment I knew I had COVID to take precautions; such as wearing a mask permanently, washing my hands with soap and water before touching the baby, always having alcohol on hand, disinfecting all areas I have touched, avoiding touching my baby's eyes/nose/mouth.

Totalmente es un reto, ya que mi hijo está en una etapa donde quiere estar encima de mi, no quiere comer si no estar pegado de la teta; hable con su pediatra y me dice que puede ser que se sienta mal, a pesar que no vemos síntoma de COVID puede estar decaído y sin apetito solo queda esperar si aparece algún síntoma.

It is a challenge since my son is in a stage where he wants to be on top of me, he does not want to eat if not to be glued to the teat; I talked to his pediatrician and he tells me that he may be feeling bad, although we do not see symptoms of COVID, he may be down and without appetite, we just have to wait if any symptoms appear.
