Po długiej przerwie powracam z rysunkiem uliczki La Valletty.

After a long break, I'm back with a drawing of La Valletta's street.

Przerwa spowodowana była rzecz jasna natłokiem innych zajęć. Zaczęłam ten obrazek 11 kwietnia, ale miałam na to czas raptem kilka razy po 10 minut. Praca i inne obowiązki skutecznie powstrzymywały mnie przed rysowaniem, niestety. No ale mniejsza z tym - wreszcie udało się skończyć obrazek.

The break was, of course, due to the pressure of other activities. I started this picture on April 11, but I only had time for it a few times for 10 minutes. Work and other obligations effectively prevented me from drawing, unfortunately. Well, never mind - finally managed to finish the picture.

Poniżej poszczególne etapy powstawania "dzieła". Oczywiście najpierw szkic.

Below are the individual stages of the creation of the "work". Sketch first, of course.

Tym razem rysowałam na nieco innym papierze - dedykowanym akwarelom, o gramaturze 300. Nie za bardzo dobrze współpracuje on z kredkami - pozostają białe przestrzenie, które nie w sposób zakolorować kredką.

This time I was drawing on slightly different paper - dedicated to watercolors, 300 grams. It doesn't work very well with pencils - there are white spaces that cannot be colored with a pencil.

Ślamazarnie, pomalutku, dorysowywałam kolejne warstwy zabudowań. Przerwy pomiędzy tymi krótkimi sesjami były nawet kilkutygodniowe.

Slowly, slowly, I added more layers of buildings. The breaks between these short sessions were even several weeks long.

Papier z bliska - tu dobrze widać jego strukturę.

I wreszcie, ukończony obrazek kredkami. Następny krok to woda i pędzelek.

And finally, the finished crayon picture. The next step is water and a brush.

No i wreszcie koniec, un fin. Ten papier stanowczo lepiej znosi wodę, która dobrze wypełnia przestrzeń i te białe, niepokolorowane pola. Podoba mi się w tym malowaniu wodą to, że robi ona co chce z obrazkiem. Tzn. zapewne robi co chce ze względu na to, że ja jestem laikiem ;) Widzę, jak ogromne znaczenie ma precyzja w pociąganiu danego koloru mokrym pędzlem, zamaszystość i kierunek ruchu, oraz to, jak dużo wody jest na pędzlu. Ale i tak finalny efekt zależy od jej kaprysu, gdzie postanowi skropić ostatnią kropelkę danego pociągnięcia.

And finally, un fin. This paper tolerates water much better, which fills the space and those white, uncolored fields well. What I like about this painting with water is that it does what it wants with the picture. i.e. he probably does what he wants due to the fact that I am a layman ;) I can see how important precision in drawing a given color with a wet brush, the sweep and direction of movement, and how much water is on the brush. But still, the final effect depends on her whim, where she decides to sprinkle the last drop of a given stroke.

Koniec :) kolejne wyzwanie to chyba będzie "najszybszy rysunek świata", żeby go zdążyć zrobić w jednej sesji, a nie rozciągać na ponad miesiąc.

End :) The next challenge will probably be the "fastest drawing in the world" to make it in one session, and not stretch it over a month.
