Experience buying fish and other vegetables at the weekly market

Currently, the market is used to spend a little. Especially in the month we have to go to market to spend for hostel. But we have to go to market about 15 to 20 km from here which is sitting two days a week. On those two days large quantities of fish and other vegetables are up for sale. And the price is also a bit lower than other days and everything is available fresh.

This market is located in a place called Keranihat in Satkania Upazila of Chittagong District. Markets are held here on Fridays and other days. This is basically where most of the fish are raised and we go there mostly to buy fish. Two of us went to the market last few months ago and bought about 34 kg of fish. Due to the current surge in prices, fish prices were much higher and to say the least, higher than normal. So we had some difficulty in buying fish and finally we bought about 34 kg of fish and cut them with other people. There were many fishes and these fishes will go to our hostel for three to four days.

Then we bought a kg of prawn fish and also bought green chillies and other vegetables. However, it is very difficult to get the cost from there. We brought the fish by hand and put it in the CNG and left for the hostel. It's a different experience especially in the current booming market. Because the prices of everything starting from the essentials have gone up a lot. The fish that I bought earlier at 170 taka per kg had to be bought at 250 taka. Moreover, the price of vegetables is also high. To be honest, it is very difficult for common people to live in such conditions. Because the entire portion of his income has to be spent on food, he will not be able to spend much on other needs. So going to spend is a different experience because I don't spend at home my father spends on essentials.

My apologies! I missed this one! I sent a tip instead!

want to thank you for being a part of the #MarketFriday Challenge. I have personally found there is always so much to learn about people, where they live, and how things are done in different parts of the world. For me, reaching out across the globe and learning about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, has been such a rewarding experience. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the rituals, festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... and what is normal for us? There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. We do differ in many ways, which makes us interesting and unique, but, there are many ways in which are so much alike.
