Nepotism

Such a lovely and controversial topic to discuss

Nepotism is common all over the world it’s happens everywhere both in church schools and politics

And in most countries it’s taken as a normal thing ,people do not see any fault in it

What do you think the word NEPOTISM mean?

Nepotism is the practice of using power or authority to give people family members employment that they are not qualified to handle or manage

Because I’m in power should I help or not help my people ?

As humans we cannot be in power and not help our people or do Some favors for them no matter how righteous we want to be

Nepotism is a way of showing love and loyalty if it’s done right

For example recommending your sister that is a RN with 5 years experience to people in authority in the hospital for the post of matron

Nepotism is right in these case because she’s qualified for the position though she got the job based on nepotism but she’s qualified

When nepotism is wrong and should not be allowed is when you use your power to put a person in a position him/her does not merit because you are in power and they are your people

This practice is what is damaging our country society and community

No one is forbidding anyone from helping his or her loved ones but it’s should be done right don’t put a person where they are not qualified to be thereby hindering the qualified person from getting employment .

Just imagine looking for work and you were offered an opportunity be interview, before you got the opportunity to be interviewed and hired the job was given to someone else because she knows someone, you were not even given the chance that opportunity was taken from you just like that - this is unfair

When In power and you want to help your people or make an impact let your help not be at the expense of hurting other people

Let not your help make qualified people to be jobless

Being In power or authority does not mean that you have to utilize every advantage at your disposal .

Imagine being in a country or system that the leaders practice nepotism , these practices will discourage the young people making them feel like their efforts are not enough or worth it

For example: imagine someone going to school studying day and night to pass exams and at the end you graduated with first class and you go to a firm to apply for a job and the job was given to someone who do not have half of what you have as a qualification just because the person know someone .

Like here in my country people often say that education, qualifications or skills doesn’t matter all that matters is know someone up there because If you know someone up there that job that you are applying for will be given to you whether you are qualified or not

In conclusion nepotism becomes too far when the future generations are made to believe that education knowledge skills and qualifications are SCAM

It’s good to help your people when in authority or power but do it rightly , put them in positions that they are qualified for nothing more than that
