I Thought I Would Cringe!

The weekend got me opening my windows, stretching my arms out and taking in all that fresh air. After a long week, the refreshment was long overdue. I relaxed as I began the plan for my next week while anticipating what the next ecency-dreemport-challenge week would entail. I knew it was going to be juicy.

“Aha,” I said as I read the posts from @dreemsteem and @snook respectively yesterday. “The fruits have ripened and the juices have began pouring out”. I whispered into the air. I quicky got on my keypads and began typing. This weeks task has got me thinking deep and searching the depths of my heart. I've got to answer these questions positively and honestly.

Where are you the happiest?

I am happiest at home. Someone once said, ‘home is not a place. Home is just a feeling’. I understand that in a way. There are people who
you meet and instantly, you feel at home. I’m the happiest at home because it is where my love lives-all the people that live rent-free in my heart. At home, I am not afraid of making mistakes. I don’t have to worry about judgement, criticism or appearance. Home is where I let my hair down. It is the place where tears are wiped away and laughter echoes through the roof. It is the space for hard conversations and sweet whispers at night. It is where I sit and the inner child in me runs around like a little bunny. Free and fair.

What positive traits can you bring to a team?

I like to think that I'm a hibernating woman of many colors. This means that there is so much more that I can do and be when the situation arises. I'm super calm until ignited. When I'm faced with a task, I have the energy and conviction inside of me to get it done. It is like being consumed by the spirit to achieve. This aura and energy are what I can bring to a team. When you perceive it from miles away, it is enchanting and contagious. Also, I am not the one to be challenged. It is best to let sleeping dogs lie because I like to prove that I'm capable of what I say. I am excellent at motivating myself and I unconsciously find myself sprinkling the heavenly waters of motivation on others.

What is something positive about you that some might see as negative?

I smiled at this one. I like to be alone and in my own space most times. It is a very positive thing for me because this is when I get to be at one with myself-body, spirit, soul. I honestly enjoy my company. I think sometimes, people perceive that to be proud.

What has been/is your favorite positive surprise about Hive?

I'd say my favorite surprise about Hive is the spirit of community. When I joined uptrennd and then uptrennd university, I knew I had found my space, niche, and clan in those amazing people. The spirit of support, oneness, encouragement, and love was overwhelming. But then my excitement was cut short. Uptrennd left us just like that-pained and heartbroken. I was one of those people who never withdrew their points. Not even for once. The relationships I formed and the things I learned were enough compensation. However, there was still hope. Word had it that the fire surging through every member of UU would keep burning in a new home, HIVE.

I wasn't so sure. You see, I had joined hive before that time and I was already posting in a few communities but I thought it wasn't going to be as fun or as fulfilling. Still, I heed the voices and joined the train here. To my surprise, the hive became just as warm as could be. The familiar faces made my transition smoother as I began creating new bonds.
Every day, as I explore new communities, it only gets better. The love, support, and encouragement are a force.
