RE: It Is Time To Expect Web 3.0

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

with Web3, we have a different way of approaching things.

Especially, search. Which currently encourages content publishers to provide snippets that Google can present in creative ways to attract advertisers. Under the guise of answering search queries.

I'm planning better explanations of this. With suggestions about ways around the problems. But fundamentally, it's about asking members of active, relevant communities. Instead of using Web2 search engines.

Excitingly, Threads provides a Web3 alternative to search engines. As long as we learn to use effective tags. Speaking of which, it's probably useful to have a tag that indicates a 'search query' type of Thread. I'm thinking that #3earch (pronounced threarch) might fit the bill.

Anyway, it would be good to seek results from Human Intelligence in Web3. And move away from search algorithms and AI in centralized Web2 query results.

I agree with moving away from search algorithms and AI, but I don't think you'll ever get people to say threarch. lol

Absolutely right! I've thought about it and I believe #googling is better. In the same way that hoovering applies to all brands of vacuum cleaner. Anyway, my first Web3 googling Threads experiment worked. As I learned that the word for nephews and nieces is niblings (like siblings for brothers and sisters). And I didn't even need a tag.
