A Glimpse of the Newly Built Church in Bato, Leyte
Happy Sunday Hivers!
Bato, Leyte is one of the municipalities in the province of Leyte. This place is surrounded by rolling hills and mountains, making it a great source of fresh and locally grown produce.
Bato is approximately a 30-minute bus ride from Hindang, which is the municipality where we live.

This time, I visited Bato with my mom, not to buy fresh produce, but to visit a newly built church. We wanted to see the beautiful Holy Family Church and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this new place of worship.
So, come along with us and let me show you the beautiful Holy Family Church.

The church is located in Brgy. Tagaytay, Bato, Leyte. If you’re coming from the Bato bus terminal, it takes approximately 10 minutes to get there.
We hired a tricycle for the trip, which is one of the common modes of transportation in Bato. We paid ₱300 for a round trip, and the driver kindly waited for us while we explored and visited the church.
It was a convenient and hassle-free way to get there, especially since we didn’t have to worry about finding another ride back to the terminal.

From the highway to the church, we had to pass through a hilly part of the road. I was actually a little worried about my mom because her knees sometimes hurt, and I wasn’t sure if she would be comfortable walking uphill.
But my mom enjoys walking, so I let her take her time. Our tricycle driver wasn’t sure if the tricycle could make it up the steep part of the road, so he decided to test it first.

While he was checking if the tricycle could make it uphill, my mom and I decided to walk instead. Thankfully, the driver met us further up the road and gave my mom a ride for the rest of the way.

It was a bit of an unexpected little adventure on our way to the church, but we enjoyed the journey along the way.

When we finally reached the top, we were greeted by the sight of a massive church standing proudly before us. It was much bigger and more impressive than I expected.

When my sister saw the photos, she even said that the church looked like a castle. And honestly, I could see why, it had a grand and beautiful appearance that immediately caught our attention.

The church has a very spacious compound, including a large parking area, so visitors who come by car won’t have to worry about finding a place to park.

As we got closer to the church, we couldn’t help but be amazed by its architectural design. Although the overall style is modern, it still incorporates classic elements, such as the beautiful arches along the sides. The materials and finishes have a contemporary look, but they are blended with traditional touches that give the church a timeless character.

I really loved how the modern and classic elements were combined. The result is a church that feels both grand and elegant.

My mom, meanwhile, was simply enjoying the view of the huge church. After the uphill walk, I think she was happy just to sit back and admire the place.

From what we heard, the church was made possible through the generosity of a wealthy family who commissioned its construction and donated it to the community. It’s truly wonderful to see how their generosity created a beautiful place of worship for everyone.

It was a simple but memorable visit to the Holy Family Church in Bato, Leyte. We were glad to see this beautiful new church and spend some time there with my mom.

And that was our little visit. It was a short trip, but definitely worth the visit.
