A New Addition to the Garden: Winged Beans

Happy Tuesday Hivers!

Winged beans are not like most vegetables that are always available in the market. I honestly don't know why only a few people grow them because they are really delicious. Whenever my family craves winged beans, we often have a hard time finding them for sale.

During one of our visits to my uncle's farm, I was delighted to see that he was growing winged beans. We were especially lucky because the plants were already producing pods at that time. Since I am very close to my uncle, I naturally asked if I could have some. Thankfully, he generously gave me not only fresh winged beans but also mature pods that contained seeds. That meant I could grow my own seedlings and eventually plant them in our garden.

The next day, I sowed the seeds in a seedling tray. After about two weeks, they were ready to be transplanted. My uncle told me that winged beans are quite easy to grow. As long as they are watered regularly and planted in good soil, they can thrive without requiring too much maintenance.

Finally, we were able to plant our four winged bean seedlings in the garden. My mother and I were very happy because we know that in the future, whenever we crave winged beans, we can simply walk to the garden and harvest them ourselves.

Growing our own food is always a rewarding experience. It not only helps us save money but also gives us the satisfaction of enjoying fresh vegetables straight from the garden. We are now looking forward to seeing our winged beans grow, climb, and eventually provide us with a bountiful harvest.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.
