Blog #129: I Have First Tried the Fruit Salad Cake @Fisherman's Cafe

When I visit a place, I also wanted to visit a museum because that is the place where I am able to know and understand deeper the history of a certain place. My constant question to the locals is "Do you have museum here?".

On my second day in Bantayan that was the day I explored the island. In the morning, I went to the different beach resorts and other well-known tourist spots. My main focused in the morning was in Sta. Fe town. After I was having my lunch, I went to Bantayan Proper to see the other side of Bantayan Island.

As I arrived in Bantayan proper, I asked some locals if they have museum, one of them replied that they have museum near the church. She told me that it will be opened at 1:30 in the afternoon. Since I arrived in Bantayan proper at around 12:00 noon I just strolled around while waiting the museum to open.

While strolling around, I have seen a little Cafe. I found the place nice so I went and checked inside.

Some of the ornamentals they have decorated on the wall are the fisherman's tools. At first, I wanted to talk to any of the Fisherman Cafe's staff to ask some questions but since I find them not approachable I just held those questions in my mind. I tried to ask once but since I'd noticed their unwillingness to answer some of my questions about the Cafe so I stopped asking.

I asked their permission if I could take some photos of their displays and luckily they allow me.

They have cookies, candies and some foods for children.

I told myself if I am with children this time maybe they would enjoy the foods.

After checking that side, I went to the counter to check their other displays and I saw cakes with different flavor.

While choosing the cake flavor, the fruit salad cake caught my attention. I have never tried it yet so I ordered fruit salad cake. I also ordered a cup of hot tea.

While waiting for my order, I went outside the Cafe and find a comfortable area to dine.

I was excited to try the fruit salad cake. As they served the cake, I ate it immediately and do you know what? Though the staffs were not approachable but I still like this Cafe because I like the taste of their cake.

The icing is not too sweet or the cake in general. For me, it was so perfect as I paired it with hot tea. I don't know if you will do the same or maybe most of you, you will pair it with coffee. I am not a coffee lover, I am a tea lover so that's why it is a perfect pair for me.

I like the atmosphere in the fisherman's Cafe especially when you dine outside. It is surrounded with big trees and green plants. If you are a nature and cake lover maybe you will love this place too.
