Blog #135: Visiting The Bamboo Forest in Medellin Cebu

Hey Hivers!

Do you know what? Japan is one of the countries in Asia that I would love to visit. The prestine surroundings; the most disciplined citizens; the healthy foods are my reasons why I love to visit Japan. But since I could not visit there yet, I find a place where I could enjoy and experience the Japan feels.

I arrived in Medellin, Cebu 2 days ago and my landlady mentioned to me about the Bamboo Forest. It made me excite as she told me that if I wanted to experience the Japan feels maybe visiting Bamboo Forest is a good idea. I was happy as I really have plan to visit a place with a Japanese touch.

As I have entered the Bamboo Forest, I've heard the sounds of creaking and swaying of the bamboos. I've heard it most of the time since it was windy when I visit this morning.

While strolling around, I have found this wishing well. I didn't throw a coin because I don't believe that the wishes will be granted if we will throw a coin and make wishes.

I continued hiking until I came across this giant wok. I don't have any idea why there were many giant woks scattered around the vicinity of Bamboo Forest.

Look at the lovers in the photo below. They had enjoyed chatting while they are on the wok.

I have seen lots of Kimuno displayed inside the Bamboo Forest. Kimuno is a national dress of Japan so if you wanted to wear and have photo wearing Kimuno you can rent it for php30.00.

I didn't rent Kimuno because as I checked it, it was not that clean.

As I turned my head back, I sighted this lovely couple wearing Kimuno. Look at them, I can see their faces that they've enjoyed what they were doing.

The place was so quite and peaceful. There were only few tourists around.

Maybe the owner of this spot was inspired by the beauty of Sagano Bamboo Forest in Kyoto Japan that's why he/she created this wonderful spot in Cebu. That's only my own assumption (lol).

If you are a nature lover, I am sure you'll love walking under these beautiful bamboos. I had a great time actually this morning, hiking around; taking photos; sight-seeing, it was truly a beautiful morning.

They have also created a statue of Hachiko. The well-known and most loyal Japanese dog.

If you wish to buy some souvenirs for your friends and family well they have also souvenir stall.

Maybe some people find the place boring but for me, it was beautiful. Although it was not that huge but I had a great time walking around and connecting with the nature. I was just imagining that I was walking in Sagano Bamboo Forest, Kyoto Japan.
