When you think of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, what probably comes to mind are its big hotels and resorts, the airport, and the economic zone. But aside from these, Lapu-Lapu City is also well-known for its traditional guitar-making industry, where skilled local craftsmen create handcrafted guitars.
In fact, if you visit Lapu-Lapu City, you will see giant guitars displayed as landmarks, especially around the guitar-making areas. Along the roads, you can also find many shops displaying and selling locally made guitars.
Lapu-Lapu City has a long tradition of guitar making, with many skilled local craftsmen who have learned the art from previous generations. Because of this, people who are looking to buy a locally handcrafted guitar often visit Lapu-Lapu City, knowing that they can find a wide variety of guitars made by local artisans.
That’s why when we went to the airport to send off my nephew, we were no longer surprised to see stalls selling guitars along the way. Lapu-Lapu City is well known for its guitar-making tradition, so seeing guitar shops and stalls around the city is quite common.
However, this particular stall caught my attention because of its beautiful and unique guitar designs. The guitars on display looked really nice, and I couldn’t help but stop and take a closer look.
It also brought back a sweet memory from years ago when my niece and nephew were still little. I remember buying guitars for them as gifts. Seeing these guitars again made me nostalgic and reminded me of those days when they were still young.
So, if you’re a guitar enthusiast or simply looking for a locally made guitar, Lapu-Lapu City is definitely a great place to visit. With its many skilled guitar makers and beautifully designed instruments, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from.
The guitar-making industry has become an important part of Lapu-Lapu City’s culture and identity. Even today, the Pajac-Maribago area is home to several guitar makers and shops, making it a fascinating place to visit for anyone who appreciates music, craftsmanship, and Cebuano culture.
