What I Usually Do on the Last day of the Year: Welcoming 2024

Happy Sunday Hivers!

The normal heartbeat goes up and down, and when the line is straight, it is already lifeless; that is also the same as life. We can't call it life if there are no challenges, struggles, and happiness. As humans, it is normal to face them in whatever forms they may take. Similar to my previous years of existence, my life this year is like a roller coaster, full of challenges and struggles, but I would be a hypocrite if I were to say I never felt happy this year. Although there are lots of challenges, I still find happiness despite those struggles. I have become better this year than in those previous years.

Today, I want to share on Hive what I usually do before the year ends. I wanted to welcome the new year with a clean and organized home, so first, I watered the only plant inside the house. My elder sister is not fond of plants, that's why this is the only plant inside. I noticed that it was getting pale, so I brought it outside and watered it. I also left it outside for a few minutes so the plant could get proper sunlight.

I cleaned the house first before organizing things. My mother used to tell us, when we were just kids, that we should keep the house tidy and organized before the new year comes. That statement always reminds me until this time.

After I finished cleaning and organizing, I brought the plant inside. It already looks nice and healthier.

After cleaning downstairs, I remembered we had a broken mirror upstairs. I don't want to keep broken stuff at home, but since my sister doesn't want to dispose of it, I just transferred it to another room. We have an empty room at home since my other siblings are not here, so I just transferred it there.

After cleaning the house, I did the laundry. I washed my clothes, blanket, and so on, so I don't have dirty clothes inside the house. I don't know if you also have the same practice as ours.

After I finished everything, I went to the kitchen and cooked biko. Actually, this is not part of my usual routine, but recently, I have been cooking kakanin most of the time; that's why I decided to cook something sticky.

That's what I usually do before the year ends. How about you? What are the usual preparations you make in welcoming the new year? I wish everyone a fruitful 2024.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am passionate with.

Starting a new year in a clean environment is a good advice, I hope you will teach your kids that too.

We also do clean up at home every christmas and new year. After that, we will prepare foods and the rest, we will just chill and wait for the closing of the year. Seeing the biko make me crave for it. We don't cook or buy kakanin every new year ee. Mahirap sila lutuin.

We clean the house before new year too because there's a belief that if we sweep dirt during the new year, good fortunes will also be swept. So we do it before new year. Happy New Year po!

Yes, you are absolutely right, challenges and struggles do exist, it's called life, every soul will die, we can only be grateful, cleaning the house is something we have to do because cleanliness is half of faith, friend. Merry Christmas

Happy new year kelly! Struggle is real talaga pero that's how life is. We struggle and go back again on track. Laban lang.

Ganda ng snake plant parang it is a must have for plantitas talaga. Yung biko, ang moist! Sarap nyan lalo na pag malamig na.
