Feel BURNT-OUT? This Blog May Hold The Answer!

There are times when constant stress has you feeling completely exhausted. It occurs especially when you spend a lot of time and energy doing one particular thing for a long period.

In this blog, I would like to talk about what we can do to regain balance and feel positive again.

What is burnout?

Burnout can be defined as a state of emotional, physical and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress.

Burnout is a pretty common thing in the line of various careers or hobbies.

Sometimes we fall into the delusion of thinking we cannot get burnt out when we are doing something we love or find exciting.

But the reverse is the case.

Whatever it is we are doing, regardless of how much we love to do the thing — when we spend so much time doing it over and over again, burnout tends to occur.

I have experienced burnout a handful of times. In academics and even with my makeup business. I spend so much time doing makeup and watching makeup tutorials that I just don't want to do make-up anymore.

At first, I thought It was because I was probably losing interest in make-up as I didn't think I could get burnt out doing something I love. But then, I came across a handful of YouTubers and content creators who talked about burnout.

When that happens, you tend to feel bored and reproductive — exhausted!
It's not a good feeling.

Here are 7 ways that can help avoid burnout:

#1 Don't spend so much of your time on one thing:

Don't spend too much time doing the same thing over and over again — have other things going on in your life.

As a Hive blogger, for example, don't spend all of your time on Hive, thinking of what to write and stuff. Take out time to do other things like spending time with family and friends and going on outings.

By doing so, you won't easily get burnt out for Hiving, but instead, you would find the process fulfilling every time.


#2 Keep things varied within the single task:

This is another way to avoid getting burnt out and that is by varying the process of the particular thing you're into.

In Hive, for example, do not spend all your time thinking of your next blog or what to write about. If you keep doing that you will likely get bored or burnt out. Instead, switch things up! Sometimes engage, try to make friends and know people.


#3 Work with purpose:

It's easy to forget the reason why we started something so it's always good to set a goal as a constant reminder of why we should be doing the thing.


#4 Talk to people:

Sometimes, we fall into the trap of thinking we should always be in control and know what we are doing.

But that is not the case. We can't always have things figured out a lot of times we can find it extremely hard to keep the balance in our life.

So sit back and think about how you feel about the things you're doing and talking to someone will help.
It will also help you feel calmer as "a problem shared is a problem half-solved."


#5 Ask for help:

Asking for help or collaborating with your pairs is not a sign of weakness.

Sometimes we get the urge to figure things out ourselves but life will be a lot easier when we learn to collaborate with others and ask for help when we are in need.

No man is an island


#6 Keep an eye on vitals:

Sleep well, eat well, exercise — these are important vitals we should always try to adhere to as it keeps us fresh and reduces the likelihood of burnout occurring


#7 Know when to rest!

Sometimes it's hard to know when to get a rest so you can incorporate it into your schedule.
Taking a break away from our regular activities can help revive one's creative approach toward the thing and reignite our flaming passion for it.


What if I'm already burnt out?

Well, It's okay to be burnt out. It can be particularly difficult to keep a balance in different areas of our lives.

You should know you're not alone. It's something a lot of us can relate to. At that point, you take a time out, talk to friends and family and get some good rest.

And it will pass!

I do believe it will pass as it happens to me. There is always a phase in everyone of us that we will feel demotivated with our lives but after that, we will feel like moving again, creating something good again and loving ourselves again to be a great person.

Yes, I completely agree with you. It does happen to a lot of us. That is why we have to be kind to ourselves when we feel unproductive as it is normal and will surely pass.

Hello there, and thank you for posting in my community! With all the things we deal with in our everyday lives; the blockchain, the current world's state, and life in general. It is quite easy to feel "burnt out". This was a great post helping to express different ways to not let these things... well... stress us out! My only suggestion would be to share with our readers what apps or software you are using to make your graphics. They look very nice, but I always tell everyone to share this information.
