Rose Sees The World

Oh, the deep yearning of Rose.
Not content to stay a seedling,
She desires to grow up fast!
Like the ones before her.

She is weary of being buried
In the dark,
Beneath the soil,
And its suffocating 'care'.

For how long?
She wonders in frustration.
Time could not move fast enough.
Still, the longing persists.

For more, for more.
More of the world to see,
More of life,
The feel of the golden sun.

The caress of the cool breeze,
The soft smooch of a human's hand,
The touching glance of eyes,
Admiring her outstanding beauty.

At last, she is out!
Breathing in the golden rays of the sun,
She blooms beautifully.
Red, in rows of pretty folds,
Only to be plucked away
By the admired hands!
