Bargain (2022) | The production crew dragged this Kdrama through the mud.

It always gives a good feeling to pick a show that thoroughly whets your appetite. This is why I've been very careful when selecting Kdramas that will be added to my watchlist. I would say I've been quite lucky with my selections this year. Every one of them that I've binge-watching got up to a 7.5 rating from me.

Everything... Except for this Kdrama which I tried to watch three weeks ago.

Drama: Bargain

Genres: Thriller, Crime, Drama.

Episodes: 6

Release Date: Oct 28 - Nov 4, 2022

It took less than 10 minutes into the first episode for me to lose my appetite for this show. There were many things about the opening scene that just didn't captivate my attention. For the record, each episode of this is just about half an hour. Yet, I couldn't get through the first episode when I tried to watch this 3 week ago. I had to toss it aside for later.

Just to give this the benefit of the doubt, I tried again over the weekend. This time around, I painstakingly dug into the first two episodes before deciding to delete the folder I created for this show. I reckon that decision counts as good riddance. I've had enough. Haha.

What's so wrong with this show?

1. The Cast: The cast for this show is very awful. I didn't see any character that was a good fit for the role given to him or her. Not even one. What the director did with the cast is similar to going to a street to pick some random lad who will be forced to play a role in a movie.

Because of the non-alignment between the casts and the role assigned to them, everything they were saying and displaying felt too unrealistic and overly dramatic. It wasn't a good look.

2. The Dialogue: The dialogue is very poor, very uninspiring and very distasteful. The writer needed to cut down on all the F bombs in the dialogues. As far as I can tell, curse words sound cool only when it is used at the right time. Not when it comes into every effing line in the dialogue.

Aside from the curse words and F bombs in the dialogues, the lines from each of the characters lacked any sort of spark in it. This is either the fault of the screenwriter or that of the actors. The lines felt empty. This made it hard for viewers to feel whatever the characters were meant to be feeling.

3. The Shots Were Too Dull: I know that this is a story of what played out when human parts dealers were caught up in a building that collapsed due to an earthquake. Understandably, the camera shots will display dark scenes, but even a dark scene can still be sharp. This particular one was too dull.

Some of the shots will make you feel as if you are coming face-to-face with the angel of darkness if there is anything like that. It wasn't a good look at all.

Now that I've taken enough time to shed light on a few things that came as a turn-off while I was seeing this Kdrama, it's important to note that the storyline is still an interesting one.

If only the same storyline would be given to a different writer and a different director is picked to run this project and a different set of actors are used plus a whole lot of other changes that have to be made. If all these (basically, everything) are worked on, the review for this would have been so much better.

The bottom line is that this is a waste of time. Don't even think about watching this. Okay?

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

That was a constructive criticism to the movie backed up with reasons and not just writing for writing sakes.

A great one👍

Yeah. The movie wasn't up to a decent standard. It's only right to also review it based on the standard it presented. Haha

You have no mercy on how you washed this post. It must really be a poor rated one.

Lolzzzzz... I know I can always touch their ego when they do a good job, but if they give us a poorly made Kdrama, I will gladly whitewash them for wasting my time. Haha
