Day 2 of Fifa World Cup: The English lads were relentless.

The World Cup buzz is getting more real and we are here to soak in all the fun and excitement that comes with it.

For the record, I didn't exactly think I will enjoy this tournament because my Country didn't qualify, but now that we are into the World Cup proper, I've realized that I have a lot of vested interest in some countries and their performance.

For example, I want all the African countries that made it to Qatar to do well in this World Cup. I also want the South Koreans to do well because I love the country and everything about them. In addition to these, I particularly wish the best for all Liverpool players that made it to the tournament.

You see, I didn't think I had a horse in the race, but the reality is that I have too many horses in the race. Haha. It's exciting!

Did you see the games that were played on Day 2 of the World Cup?

  • England 6 - 2 Iran

  • Senegal 0 - 2 Netherlands

  • USA 1 - 1 Wales

Look at that.

England had a good start to the World Cup. It was a perfect start for them and I'm sure their fans are incredibly excited. If you pay attention to netizens, you will see captions of "It's Coming Home" from England fans. Haha.

The first 30 minutes of the game between England and Iran was a stop-start kinda game with so many calls for medical attention. The Iranian goalkeeper had to be substituted before the half-hour mark for an injury which looked very serious. I don't know if we will be seeing him again though.

What a pity!

As for Iran, they got outplayed by the masterclass of the three Lions of England. They made it too easy for England and the English lads were relentless in their goalscoring. Hehe.

Despite the adorable moments we saw in the game between England and Iran, I believe the most competitive game so far is the one between Senegal and Netherlands.

It was a game that would have ended as a 0-0 draw, but Netherlands capitalized on two moments of brilliance, thanks to Mendy (Senegal's goalkeeper). Mendy will surely be gutted after his performance in that game.

Nonetheless, we can't take anything away from Netherlands. They got the win and they are top of their table.

That's all that matters.

As for USA and Wales, I genuinely have no horse in their race. Haha. I didn't watch their game, but a shared point between the two isn't a bad start.

What was your favourite game on Day 2 of this World Cup?
