Feeling excited about the coming of a new week is a free-for-all affair.

You are probably one of those that cuddle your pillow while comfortably sitting on a sofa to stream any interesting TV show or movie of your choice. Let's not forget the popcorn and chips that goes along with this.

Is that a necessity or some unspoken rule about having a good time?

Nope! Watching a movie on a weekend is not necessary, but we do it because it's fun, nice and improves the weekend. Haha. It's a free-for-all affair and I feel the same way about being excited for the coming of a new week.

I can't contain my joy whenever a new week is around the corner and I've pretty much exchanged a happy new week greeting with more than a dozen people. For me, the mere thought of taking steps closer to achieving my goals is always at the heart of everything that excites me about a new week.

Now, I want to get your thoughts about new weeks and the feeling you get about the coming of a new week.

It is easy for me to say I love a new week and I genuinely find so many things inspiring about Mondays. But that has not always been the case with me. That doesn't tell the full story because there was a time in my life when the mere thought of facing a new week frustrated me.

My Uni days were like that. My National Youth service days (NYSC) were like that. The days I spent working in the corporate sector as a banker were not any different.

Guess what changed?

I found my life moving in a direction that was fairly uninspiring and pitiful. Wake up in the morning. Go to work and do the same thing till nightfall. Come back the next day and repeat the same schedule.

That is the norm in the banking sector and I've always wanted to be a banker, but when I got a taste of the life of a banker, I found it to be different from the lifestyle I genuinely need. I rebelled against the norm, dug into alternatives and here I am.

The most exciting thing about my life at the moment is the plans I'm cooking and executing. Sometimes I get it right, other things I make a mess of things. Nonetheless, doing these have completely changed the trajectory of how I feel whenever I wake up to a new day. The feel-good attitude cannot be overemphasized.
