Life is filled with ups and downs, and there is an important lesson about the world for us to learn as we go through life.

Every step you take in the outside world tends to give you a painful or joyful experience. Now, everyone wants to minimize the painful experience of life and maximize the joyful experiences. This is why statements like "learn from the mistake of others" are highly used in our modern society.

Even at that, there must come a time when you will be hurt by a decision you made or by an indecision on your part.

Perhaps, you ended up giving your trust to the wrong set of people who are only interested in taking advantage of you. Some people fall in love with the wrong person while some get into friendships with people whose ulterior motive holds no good.

I mean, we all live in a scary world with a ludicrously high level of scams and shams. We wouldn't want to come face-to-face with any challenging situations, but how far can we grow if we do not ever get to face this side of life?

I genuinely feel there is a lesson to learn from all disappointing experiences and this lesson is also for parents.

It is a fact that our parents love us so much. They love us to the extent that they don't ever want us to face the harsh experience of life. They want to try and mitigate the hurt in the world because parents have been through life and they know that there is a lot of harsh shit out there.

But, it's important for parents to also know that they can't protect their children forever. You can't make every decision for your kids and you are doing your children a disservice if you don't allow them to fall and pick themselves back up.

This aspect of allowing your kid to also do things their way and make decisions about their own life is an important aspect of parenthood which I know to be hard for most parents. But, it has to be done nonetheless.

'Suggest but don't enforce' is a method that can be used by parents in some situations because it massively helps the kids to attain psychological Independence. It helps them to do things on their own and it helps them to learn the essence of getting back up even when they face the harsh reality of life.

In a nutshell, facing the harsh reality of life also comes with its positives. Besides, coming face-to-face with sad experience is unavoidable. So, learning how to also deal with such experience is a big sign of growth and development.
