Como les comentaba en mi último video Tengo un ¡NUEVO TRABAJO!, empecé a laborar en mi profesión, es decir, como Ingeniero Industrial, de manera formal en una fabrica de producción de alimentos. Así que hoy quiero contarles como ha sido este proceso y que significa trabajar lejos de casa.

As I told you in my last video I have a NEW JOB!, I started working in my profession, that is, as an Industrial Engineer, in a formal way in a food production factory. So today I want to tell you how this process has been and what it means to work far away from home.

Empecé a trabajar en una empresa multinacional. Llevo apenas dos semanas de trabajo y la experiencia ha sido increíble. Les cuento que entre en un programa como ingeniero entrenante/practicante, tuve que presentar unas pruebas, luego tuve la entrevista y pase por el proceso de revisión médica, y después de todo este proceso, ¡afortunadamente quedé!. Después de esto empecé a asistir a mi nuevo trabajo, donde me asignaron un proyecto, él mío se trata de la estandarización de los procesos en la línea de producción con la finalidad de administrar eficientemente los recursos. Este es el principio, tengo mucho que aprender y mucho que descubrir todavía.

I started working in a multinational company. I have only been working for two weeks and the experience has been incredible. I entered a program as a trainee engineer, I had to submit some tests, then I had the interview and went through the medical review process, and after all this process, fortunately I was left!. After this I started to attend my new job, where I was assigned a project, mine is about the standardization of the processes in the production line in order to efficiently manage the resources. This is the beginning, I have a lot to learn and a lot to discover yet.

Mi horario es de 7:30 a.m a 4:30 p.m, pero la fabrica esta fuera de la ciudad de San Cristóbal, queda a 1 hora y 15 minutos aproximadamente del centro, si no hay problemas en las carreteras, es decir, derrumbes, accidentes, entre otras. Pero yo me tengo que levantar en las mañanas a las 5 de la mañana y salgo de casa a las 5:45 am, para llegar a tiempo a la parada donde me recoge el transporte de la empresa. Yo camino 15 minutos hasta el lugar donde me recoge el bus.

My schedule is from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the factory is outside the city of San Cristobal, it is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from downtown, if there are no problems on the roads, i.e. landslides, accidents, among others. But I have to get up in the mornings at 5 am and leave home at 5:45 am, to arrive on time to the stop where the company transportation picks me up. I walk 15 minutes to the place where the bus picks me up.

Paso a paso estoy aprendiendo todos los procesos que se desarrollan dentro de la empresa y dentro de mi oficina, encargada de la organización de los procesos y la mejora continua. Además, de mi proyecto también colaboro con otras actividades que se realizan en mi área, como cargar los formatos, procedimientos, instructivos y manuales a la base documental de la empresa, a la cual todos los demás departamentos tienen acceso.

Step by step I am learning all the processes that are developed within the company and within my office, in charge of the organization of processes and continuous improvement. In addition to my project, I also collaborate with other activities that are carried out in my area, such as uploading formats, procedures, instructions and manuals to the company's document base, to which all other departments have access.

Lo que me ha gustado de estar allí, es que todo se hace de forma estricta, las reglas y normas se cumplen a cabalidad. Y yo soy bastante disciplinada y me parece que todo funciona mejor de esta forma. Así que mis valores se alinean con los de la organización. También me gusto que es una empresa que se encarga de mantener a su personal capacitado, y esto es vital para el desarrollo efectivo, eficaz y eficiente de las actividades y los procesos.

What I liked about being there is that everything is done in a strict way, the rules and regulations are followed to the letter. And I am quite disciplined and I find that everything works better this way. So my values align with those of the organization. I also like that it is a company that takes care to keep its staff trained, and this is vital for the effective, efficient and effective development of activities and processes.

Estuve en capacitaciones de seguridad, salud e higiene, en capacitaciones sobre la calidad e inocuidad de los alimentos, sobre la historia de la empresa, también en una relacionada a los recursos humanos, donde nos explicaron todos lo beneficios de la empresa, entre otras. Nos dotaron con equipos de seguridad, como botas de punta de hierro, protectores de oídos, entre otros.

I attended safety, health and hygiene training, training on food quality and safety, on the history of the company, as well as one related to human resources, where they explained to us all the benefits of the company, among others. We were provided with safety equipment, such as iron toe boots, ear protectors, among others.

Me siento feliz y satisfecha por este nuevo logro, así que espero traerles historias relacionadas a mi carrera, la ingeniería. Apenas este es el principio de una gran aventura. Crecer profesionalmente es uno de los objetivos de este año que estoy desarrollando. Y Si ahora tu en este momento estas deseando algo, es momento de ponerte manos a la obra y trabajar en lo que quieras.
