As humans, living our day-to-day lives can affect us in various areas, including our emotions and mental health, and due to these turmoils in life that we face, finding inner peace through the storm is essential and it can make all the difference.

Inner peace is something that everybody needs, especially when life becomes overwhelming and difficult but, the search for it can be confusing to many.

Now, for you to be able to find inner peace, you need to know what inner peace is, and for me, inner peace is the state of overall calmness, it is serenity at its peak.

What isn't inner peace? Most people feel like inner peace is the absence of conflicts or a life without problems and challenges but, that isn't it, instead, it is finding happiness and calmness through the challenges.

MY JOURNEY WITH INNER PEACE
As someone who has had a pretty challenging life, having inner peace has been a struggle for me especially since I didn't understand it, I always felt like it translated to a problem-free life and that was an issue for me because I kept questioning why there was so much unrest in my life.

It took me years and countless of research to get to understand what inner peace was and even though I can't really say I am where I want to be yet, I have found simple things that have helped me gain inner peace.

WHAT ARE SOME SIMPLE THINGS I USE TO MAKE ME HAPPY?

  1. Music: listening to music is one of the ways I use to boost my happiness and no matter how sad or frustrated I am, music can make things better and give me inner peace.
  2. Writing my feelings down: Another way I use to make myself happy is by writing about my feelings, and documenting my day, I find it that after writing I always feel way better.
  3. By praying: ever since I started praying consistently, I realize that I am hardly ever sad and there is a peace I experience every time I pray.
  4. Lastly by watching movies: movies are one of my escapes and it is a sure way that I use to make myself happy; crazy enough horror movies are one genre that I always levitate towards.

HOW DO I ACHIEVE HAPPINESS WHILE LIVING IN HARMONY WITH PEOPLE?

The main way I use to achieve happiness while living in harmony with people is knowing when to walk away.

Personally, I know that I am a very temperamental and emotional person, so whenever I feel like my inner peace is threatened, I walk away, take a deep breath and evaluate my next actions.

I have realized that doing this has made so much of a difference in my relationship and my overall happiness.

FINALLY,
The search for inner peace can feel complicated but we need to realize that finding inner peace is simply focusing on finding little things that can make the storm seems like showers of rain.

This is my entry to this week’s #KISS and I will be inviting @ksam and @starstrings01 to participate in this.

Learning to take the time to step back, breathe and CHOOSE how to respond to life instead of blindly reacting is a marvellous skill :)

Well done!

I wish I'd figured that out when I was your age. Would have saved me a ton of trouble! 😁❤️

It took some time learning how to do that also, I was always overreacting and I didn't like it so I had to learn.

I hear you. It sucks being reactive.

That's a trauma response btw. It's not you. It's an overactive nervous system :)

So the fact that you figured it out and are using skills to manage it is brilliant ❤️

Thank you for the invitation and for making me aware of this wonderful initiative #KISS (Keep it Simple and Smart)

Most people feel like inner peace is the absence of conflicts or a life without problems and challenges....

When you define inner peace as the "absence" of something, then that definition is somewhat threading in the negative direction, because it implies that inner peace can't stand independent of that negative stain. And for something as delicate as inner peace, if it is stained with this form of negativity, then I wonder if it'll truly count as inner peace.

Thanks for sharing this awesome piece and inviting me as well 🥰

😆 you are too funny jare, and exactly inner peace is an absence neither is it dependent on anything to exist, it just does.

I hope to see your article soon.

Hello @khaleesii

You've hit the nail on the head with these points.🙌

inner peace is the state of overall calmness, it is serenity at its peak.

Most people feel like inner peace is the absence of conflicts or a life without problems and challenges but, that isn't it, instead, it is finding happiness and calmness through the challenges.

I would never try to explain this to anyone, nor would I ever try to explain any of my problems to anyone.

My life could be falling apart and upside down, and I will be as calm as if nothing is happening. I've struggled for people to understand that my life is far from perfect, but I have come to the full realisation that it's in my best interest to remain this way, because frankly, no one truly gives a rat's ass about anyone's problems but their own. I hold onto my compassionate nature, and will always listen to people who are in need and put my problems on a back burner. However, I have zero tolerance for complainers.
Giving energy to complainers is something that could upset my inner peace...therefore I guard my inner peace by tuning out complainers. I have a solution mindset and tend not to focus my energy on problems.

You seem to have good solutions for finding inner peace which is awesome.

Good luck with your quest!

My life could be falling apart and upside down, and I will be as calm as if nothing is happening

This is an amazing trait, I am still trying to perfect this because sometimes I still get affected by a lot but, I guess I am getting there.

Also, you are right, everyone has problems so there is no point even bothering people with yours, I barely ever tell people about my issues, and sometimes it affects my relationships because people like seeing you falling apart.

Oh well, thank you so much for reading and your wise words.

Hmm.. you are right for the fact that inner peace do not mean a life without challenges but being calm as you walk through them. All of these comes with one having a positive mind and being able to recognise all situations is temporary.

Inner Peace in terms of relating with people. Definitely you would be people who would want to destabilise you knowingly or not intentionally. Walking away is always the best approach to such situations.

You said it all @khaleesii..

Exactly inner peace is dependent on having a possible mindset and also, walking away is very essential 😊

Thank you so much for reading.
