Weekend-Engagement Concept: Products In My Bedside Table

This week, the weekend-engagement concept focuses on prompts surrounding products, and while, I was interested in all the prompts, I decided to write on the fourth one, which says;

Products in or on your bedside table

Tell us about the products in or on your bedside table. Explain why they are there, what you use them for, how they work, their benefits or practical applications. You can be explicit or vague.

For the longest period, I didn’t exactly have a load of products around me, I basically used soap to shower and that was it, crazy right?

Well, when I turned 21, I decided to take better care of my hair and skin because I realized that I actually cared about how I looked, and since then, I have gone from being a product junkie back to where I started and now I am trying to find to balance.

I feel like I still have a long way to go with products and self-care but, that is a topic for another day.

Now, without further ado, let's dive into what is in my bedside table

HAIRCARE

The first set of products you will find in my bedside table are hair care products.

Since I have curly hair which is hard to manage, I usually do have a lot of products that make it more manageable; I had to cut out a lot because I am trying to spend less but, these are the essentials.

You can see in this picture my leave-in conditioner which I use daily so I can comb my hair out and also, my deep conditioner which is used twice a month to seal in moisture after washing my hair.

Also, I have a hair cream that is used with my leave-in and a hair gel that I never use but haven't disposed of because I feel like I might need it one day.

SKINCARE

IMG_20220520_112308_613-01.jpeg

If I am being honest here, I will tell you that I don't use these, and I don't even know why they are in my bedside table.

I took these products from a friend months back and after using them once, I had breakouts, so they got abandoned.

IMG_20220520_112431_697-01.jpeg

This is also another skincare product I don't use which I also got from a friend.

A while back I was complaining about my skin and he gifted me this but unknowingly to me, it was a scrub and it made my skin break out so I dumped it.

PERFUMES AND THE REST

IMG_20220520_112512_285-01.jpeg

The last set of things I have are my roll-on, perfume, toothpaste, and a bottle of perfume that is now filled with water.

You might be curious why my toothpaste is in this table and not the toilet and I wish I had an answer.

Also, the most used thing in my bedside table is the bottle of perfume now filled with water because I use it on my hair, my shoes, my clothes, and sometimes my face; gross I know but, it is very convenient and it is crazy how many things I need water for.

FINALLY,

If you haven't realized yet, well, my bedside table is simply a dumping ground and I barely use the things in it, I feel like it is convenient because it is beside my bed but, I guess I need to have better usage for it.

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Considering that your drawer was empty before you turned 21, you are very organised now. It looks like you found all the products you need.

Thank you, I gradually would change out a lot of them though, I feel like they don't meet my needs.

I bought myself deoderant a few weeks ago that I used when I was in my early twenties, it was like being transported back in time. So weird how even when we change them, they can take us back right?

Indeed they do, I remember this air freshener that my aunt used when I was younger, till now whenever I inhale it, I go back to those days.

A person's bedside table is a very private place and when I wrote this topic I really didn't think anyone would answer it. Thank you for bravely tackling this topic and sharing.

I think I could attempt it because I didn't really have anything too crazy.

Thank you so much for reading.

Wow. Taking care of your skin, is an investment my dear. I love tea tree too. Recently, I haven't seen it for almost a month and I really want to have it again.

It is an expensive investment 😆 but I try, tea tree is also amazing for hair and skin.

I must admit that my bedside table used to be a dumping ground, well the top drawer anyway. I went minimalist though and now only had socks and underpants in it. On top a couple of books, a pen and some paper and some face moisturiser!
Hehe so I do understand how you are downsizing so to speak with products.
It is funny you keep products that you don't use anymore (a hoarder maybe;))
You did answer my toothpaste question, as that was the first thing that I saw and went why!
Have a magical weekend Ophelia and thanks for entering:)

I wouldn't really call myself a hoarder because I give out or trash things a lot but I guess I have the tendencies 😆

I usually should have books in mine but I read all and packed them in a bag; I need more books that remind me.

Your dresser is perfect, a perfect combination and I had to talk about the toothpaste, I know it would be weird 😆

Thank you so much @tengolotodo for reading, hope you are good?

Thanks Ophelia I am good, could have been better haha but still good.
The tendencies hehe, I am like you, unless something is empty, I don't really like throwing it out. However, there are times when I get crazy and throw out lots of stuff, I show no mercy hahaha
Have a great weekend :)

we are really alike; I think the major thing I let go of is clothing when I donate, hehehe but products, barely do.

That's amazing, we don't have those here so I mostly give to church and family, I hate clutter so I give out a lot to the point that my family complains that they wouldn't buy me clothing.

Well alot of the charity shops are a bit like giving to a church or for animal charities I like them too. It is funny I have always told my family and friends not to buy me clothing, but to donate the money to animal charities instead!

Interesting, animal Charities, never heard of that before but then again, Nigeria isn't the most animal friendly place.

I like your products because they are all useful and necessary for personal care.
The perfume bottle full of water is strange hahaha, but I understand that you want to leave your fragrance everywhere, although so much water should no longer retain its original fragrance (I think).

Hehe he, the perfume bottle wasn't to actually retain the scent but, because I needed a spray bottle for my hair; it's crazy I know but curly hair needs water 😆

Hmm, I am guessing that you smell like a million dollars. I won't say too much lest I come off as being creepy. LOL. Nice post though. Cheers.

😆 you wouldn't come off as creepy, it's normal I guess.

I am sensitive with smells so I don't know, it's important to me; literally followed a guy around because of his perfume so I'm the creep here.
