The Play2Earn Report - Smooth Sailing

avatar

This last week has been a surprisingly smooth one. There have been no huge new discoveries for me and neither did anything groundbreaking happen in any of my games. That's not to say I had a bad week, though. Things have been progressing steadily and after reducing my involvement with some of my games I have a little more time for other crypto endeavors. I try to get more involved with LeoFinance and to comment and vote on more articles each day. I've also did another two articles and had some amazing success with these.

My first one on the topic of passive income had more than 6,000 views on Publish0x and netted me more than 7$ - a new personal record for me. The follow up article has almost 100 LEO pending payout, which also is a new personal record. So in terms of blogging, things have been going really well for me. Now let's have a look at my current token holdings:

TokenAmountIncrease
Hive6,09435
LEO5,01120
SPT23,587254

So not that much growth in that area but that is mostly due to the fact that I used me LEO earnings to invest in the LBI-Token which I feel is an amazing investment opportunity. As long as they keep selling the token, all my LEO earnings will go towards buying even more tokens. I've also delegated 4,000 Hive Power to @leo.voter and I'll delegate my remaining 2,000 Hive when my voting mana has replenished. I'm a bit sorry that my vote won't be worth anything in Hive any longer. But honestly, with the miserable curation reward system I'd never get even close to 16% return with manual curation and my LEO voting power is increasing steadily, so this is not an issue to me. If you don't already do so, publish to LeoFinance people!

Now let's take a quick look at my individual games:

Splinterlands

I've managed to find another active referral for Splinterlands this week and this has really payed off. Finding new referrals for the game usually is rather easy with several new people joining the game using my link every week, but not many actually buy the spellbook or even additional boosters. This time, though, I've really been lucky with my new referral buying boosters repeatedly.

Untitled.png

There are even more payments made than what fits on this page, so all in all I've made 8,300 credits in referral rewards last week - that's really nice!

Other than that, everything has been going quite well. I didn't have that much time for binge playing so my DEC capture rate has been almost full every new day but I still earned about 2€ per day from ranked play and tournaments. I've also found a Llama mage in one of my reward booster packs which I traded for some water legendaries.

Untitled.png

I'm a little irritated by this month's Brawler as I feel like 10,000 DEC is way too high an entry fee for a single elimination tournament like that. It also has very specific set of rules which automatically excludes most of the player base. It'll be interesting to see how this goes for Splinterlands, but to tell the truth, I hope that almost nobody registers for it and it becomes a total flop. If it does, we might see some regular Brawlers again afterwards.

I understand there are many different kinds of stakeholders involved in Splinterlands and they have to make sure to throw a bone to each of them from time to time, but this certainly is the wrong way to do it in my opinion.

dCity

Not too much to report on dCity. My town has been growing slowly but steadily and I still hold my position around #380 for the reward pool. All SIM earned has been spent on acquiring new cards for the game, but because of the LBI-Token mentioned above, I didn't invest anything else into the game.

Untitled.png

Looking at the leaderboard, getting to #300 (and thus the next reward level) would only require ~600 population which is not really that much. As soon as the token sale stops, I'll probably focus on getting there. So far, the returns from dCity have been really great and with a little more investment, things can only improve further for me.

Rising Star

Rising Star introduced a new incentive for holding NFTs in the game. Starting in January, there will be a reward pool paying out daily Hive rewards much like what dCity does. While I always enjoy these kinds of passive income, so far, the rewards pool is rather small.

Untitled.png

I do like the way the reward pool is compromised, putting emphasis on both unique cards and total numbers of cards. For now, I'll use my Starbits to buy other assets but I certainly won't cash out either. I'll keep watching how the game develops and if the reward pool keeps growing a bit, I might start to work towards a better ranking. I don't see it growing into dCity's spheres anytime soon but who knows.

Cryptobrewmaster

No news on Cryptobrewmaster this week, I've been collecting my ingredients from daily tasks and also managed to bring another 3 players into the game. Not bad but also not as much as I did in other weeks.

eXode

eXode published another article this week announcing the winners and top contributors to the Evacuation challenge. I suspect things go be going a little slower for eXode for the rest of the year, although I'm really excited for the next feature on the list - the Uniform Update. I can't speak about any specifics just yet, but @elindos has something amazing and pretty unique planned for the game.

Conclusion

And that's already it! As you can see, it has been a pretty relaxed week in terms of crypto activity. With a hard lockdown coming to Germany tomorrow, I'll probably have even more time for my blockchain endeavors in the coming weeks. I don't want to make any promises, but my goal is to up my engagement game even more and to release at least 5 articles per week for the rest of the year. We'll see how that goes...

Anyway, thank you all for reading and see you next time!

This is a nice overview of the games. Exodue I did not try eve if I have an account.

It is amazing to see that you manage to get refs for Splinterland! Respect for that! :)

An idea deriving from this would be to see if we can bring refs for leofinance.io like peakd has the possibility to.

Incredible how fast you're developing your account in Splinterlands, Exode etc... LeoFinance is imo an excellent investment so i see you in the correct path here, in fact i should do the same as my HP doesn't give me almost any return.

Cheers captain, and keep rocking on.

Thanks Captain, will do!

Investing in LeoFinance is certainly the right call IMO, it's where the biggest growth will be. I had the same issue with my HP, delegating to @leo.voter really helped with that ;-)

I sent some LEO to @lbi-token but have not received them as yet. That's all you need to do right.., via hive.engine?

Aye, correct. They send out all tokens manually, so it can take up to 24 hours. I've sent them LEO three times so far and always received my tokens within 2-3 hours, though.

Are they still issuing LBI in 1:1.
I thought it was only 24 hour deal.

They are still issuing them - I bought another 1,100 LBI-tokens last night and already have them in my wallet.

True... but I feel like it's improving with every feature added to the game. It's a long journey, but I think we are getting there ;-)

You should be, it really is just a small feature, but I'm super excited for it ever since the Commander told me about it ;-)
