Todays Splinterlands battle report for the "Share your Battle" challenge is about the Wood Nymph. Wood Nymph is a 4 Mana Tank-Healer who can give magic support from position #3 or #4 in an Earth splinter formation. From Level 6 onwards she gets the Strengthen ability.

The Wood Nymph is a common card, which has been given away as a reward to players. The new Chaos League set brought us the Goblin Psychic, which took over her place as healer, because of his higher damage and health.

Wood Nymph is today mainly used in low mana battles, but as you can see in the battle report, Earth can as well be played successfully with two healers.

The idea behind the formation:

Obsidian as summoner is a logical choice for a formation containing Wood Nymph.

#1 Failed Summoner
#2 Unicorn Mustang
#3 Goblin Psychic
#4 Wood Nymph
#5 Khmer Princess
#6 Mycelic Morphoid

The battle was under the Divine Shield condition. As used by many players I put Failed Summoner in #1 followed by Unicorn Mustang to prevent magic damage. The same idea, as my opponent had.

On position #3 Goblin Psychic and #4 Wood Nymph i placed my double healer / hitter tag team. A sniper would have really ruined my day, but for god sake, my opponent had none in his lineup. Both healers did an incredible job keeping the Mustang alive, whill doing som decent damage themselves.

Khmer Princess on #5 was included for cheap damage, being pretty save on #5. While Mycelic Morphoid should just prevent backstabs, which was not needed in the end.

The matchup looks pretty similar. Instead of the the Wood Nymph my oponent used an Elven Mystic and on #3 he had a Xenith Archer instead of my Mycelic Morphoid on #6. I did not use all my mana. In the end having the Archer on #6 would have been better than my choice.

Because of the divine shield in the first few rounds there is not much happening. But at the start of round 4 a big difference in the health of the tank is to be seen.

In the end this was already the game breaker in my favor and the battle ends after a few more rounds without any more casualities on my side.

Summary

Playing the Earth Splinter with Obsidian and a double healer formation is a viable tactic, as long as the opponent does not field any snipe or opportunity monsters.

Again this challenge showed me a card, which as a new player I would not have used otherwise. Thanks you for that.

Only now am I starting to feel comfortable with Chaos Legion cards. Notice how much faster Wood Nymph gets as she is leveled up. I have a plan to level up an Earth Splinter Summoner probably the magic one as she is the cheapest to level three, and then level up my cards so they are faster and more powerful.
