SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE : AIMING FOR BARON'S BOUNTRY LUCKY DRAW

So this week we have a promo event called Baron's Bounty to celebrate the upcoming Bitcoing halving. It is a very brief events lasted for only 14 days. Splinterlands has been releasing 2 (two) limited promo cards, Baron Fyatt and Henchling Enforcer. Both could easily purchased by paying DEC or by expeding Voucher tokens to gain rebate on DEC. Both are very intresting cards noteably for their extremely rare ability, Halving. So far we only see this ability on Trapp Falloway, Arkemis The Bear, and Halfing Alchemnist; all of which are rarely used in any battle situation.

So I'm going to give my thought on this events.

What's In It Of This Promo?

Some might feel reluctant to purchase these cards, since its a common thing, that these cards would later be sold in the market on reduced price than the current purchase price. Its very obvious if you see the secondary market has listed the Baron Fyatt (Regular Foil) at 12,745 DEC and Henchling Enforcer (Regular Foil) at 1,898 DEC. Thats almost half the current purchase price! Even by expending Voucher tokens, its still far from the rebate price.

Points and reward chances are the only things which could offset this price difference. And I think its not something to be taken lightly. Runi have the best value of all, but at the very least even Untamed Packs at $7.78 / packs are good enough. So I figure, while the multiplier still maintained at the high position, its a good to reap extra points earlier.

In addition, the fact that DEC has dropped below its peg value to $0.00087 / DEC would give bonus DEC from converting USD.

What's The Best Way To Amassing These Cards?

Currently I already gained 2x Baron Fyatt and 4x Henchling Enforcer, but unfortunately none of them are gold foil. They are yet from being battle tested. But seeing their Level 1 profile, I would say Baron Fyatt might worth much better than Henchling Enforcer. Not only Fyatt cost less mana, but also the Scattershot is game-changing. This will allow Fyatt to cut down the damage output of high damage cards covered in the back-row.

From this purchase, I already gained 192,857 points which resulting in 19 prize chances. The current multiplier is still very high currently.

Purchasing the cards by spending Voucher tokens would result in less points, because the scheme only calculated by the amount of DEC burned. So I decided to purchase the full value without using any Voucher tokens. This decision come from my comparison of the value between them. As shown in my table below, with the current value of DEC/USD and Voucher/USD, purchasing Baron Fyatt using vouchers would in the end only reduce the price to $ 24.1393 / $ 27.1875 = 88.78%. That wasn't a lot of saving compared the double points would be gained between both.

The explanation come from the value of DEC and Voucher itself. For each Voucher spend it provide a 50 DEC cost cut. But while DEC itself pegged at $ 0,00087, it would mean the rebate in USD value equal to 50 x $ 0,00087 = $ 0.0435. Which means there is a lesser gap if we compare it to current market value of Voucher at $ 0.03373. So the wider the gap between the rebate value and Voucher tokens price will certainly give options for using Voucher tokens much more value. In the end, I decided to purchase the cards withouth expending any Voucher tokens.
