Happy Birthday Ollie (Bambino Blog)
Ollie's 1st birthday is coming up on Thursday, so we decided to get out and do something today for him, because the next couple of weekends are going to be pretty hectic.

Ollies First Birthday
Today, we got up with the kids and had a pretty chilled-out morning, and after they had their breakfast, we got ourselves and them ready and hit the road.
Kiora Farm is a petting zoo, farm, play park, café/ restaurant and in general just a fun place that the kids love. It's situated about 20 minutes from us, and any time we have a special occasion (and it's a nice day), we head out there.
We arrived at around 12, and met my parents, sister, her partner and their 2 kids. Shortly after we arrived, Aimee's mum got there with Aimee's sister-in-law and her two kids.
The 6 kids were running around like crazy and getting a lot of enjoyment out of the hot weather. One minute they were climbing around the large climbing frame, then they were in the sand pit, and then they'd be playing football. Trying to keep up with all of them can be tough, but between all of the adults, we managed the hoard pretty well.
Trying to get them to come in and have some food was pretty tough, but we managed to coax them inside eventually. But, it wasn't long before they were racing back outside to play.
In this heat, the only thing we were concerned about was keeping them hydrated and putting sunscreen on them.
For most of the day, I was carrying Ollie, and my arms are killing me. He's a chunky monkey and weighs the same as a sack of potatoes. In between holding him, I was running around with Kaleb playing some football.
At one point we headed over to the go-kart track, at Kaleb's behest, and it was a lot of fun, but 10 laps my legs were like Jelly, so I had to keep taking breaks going for a few more laps.
On The Way Home
As we were leaving, I got myself and Kaleb a small pot of ice cream, which was well deserved.
However, the minute we got into the car, Kaleb spilt it onto his lap, so that was the end of that.
As soon as we started moving, Ollie fell asleep, and he woke up briefly as we came into the house and dozed off again. We left him for a couple of minutes, but had to wake him up for his dinner.
Kaleb has been pretty quiet this evening, so we're thinking they will both go down early this evening.
Fingers crossed.
Kids can easily get worn out. Sounds like they enjoyed it, apart from spilled ice cream.
I think the spilled ice cream was actually a blessing, because at least he didn't have enough to get wired haha
