Haha I had no idea a bandicoot was a real creature, just looked it up, it's a weird little Shroo/Armidilo, they got it pretty spot on.
Great write-up, yeah I remember this being so tough as a kid, I only had one though, I think it was the 3rd one, Cortex's Revenge. I never completed it back then, but I did get the remake + Spyro, as they came in a double pack. I always liked Crash, even if it was a bit clunky and you're 100% right, the level variety was interesting, those missions being chased down by a boulder were so tough, those old ps1 era games are all about quick reflex haha
I never owned crash bash, but I did play it on a friend's ps1 back in the day, from there on, all of us would recreate the game sitting on skateboards going down the road.
Yeah man, Crash was a touchstone of my childhood as it was for so many others. I never owned any PS1 games since I never owned a PS1. 😅
And you just know the weirdest animals are from Australia. 😁
