Some New Additions To The Collection

I was up doing a bit of shopping the other day and stumbled across a few bits and pieces which I picked up.

They were kind of impulse buys (which I tend not to do) but, this time I'm glad I did.

The first is this table topped, mat thing. Originally, I wasn't going to buy it, but then Aimee told me that I should.

I thought it was a picture of some sort, but then she said what it was.

It was in Golden Discs for 8 Euros, and since I never use desk mats or anything, I figured it was worth getting.

I like that it only has characters and ships from the prequels and originals.

In a way, it's kind of like Where's Wally.

My office got a spring clean the other day too, so since my desk was fresh and cleared, I think this is a nice addition to it.

Before cleaning, it was covered in papers and general bits and pieces that had no reason to be laying out. I'm much happier now that it's all clear again.

My uncle bought me this a few weeks ago. It's a larger scale than the other figures, but I thought it was a cool idea.

I had told him about this comic shop, and about this figure that I never picked up, and a few weeks later he rang and said he was in it, and that they still had the Lucas figure and what's better than that, it was on sale.

The back has a bit written about the man who started it all, and I think it's a nice addition to the collections.

I was in the same comic shop the other day and saw they had IG-11 is the same scale as the Lucas figure. I always liked IG-88, and this droid is the same model, but it shows up in the Mandalorian TV series.

I'm thinking of dedicating a space to just Mandalorian figures because I have a few. Also, that show is one of favourite things that Disney has done with Star Wars since buying it in 2012.

Here's the back of the box, which has a picture of the droid standing beside Mando.

This figure was 30 Euros, reduced to 10, and that's the main reason I picked it up. That, and I like the design and detail.

While I was at the counter I saw this for 13 Euros.

I don't actually have any Baby Yoda figures, so thought I'd get it.

It was a complete impulse buy, but I'm pretty happy about it.

The back of the box doesn't have anything going on.

For an example of scale, here are the two new figures side by side. Funny enough, I think it's a kind of realistic scale to how the characters look in the show.

There we have it, for a grand total of 31 Euros, I picked up some pretty cool bits and pieces.

Ive always been fascinated by these figures, as I had some of the originals back in the day. Many of them were knackered though due to plenty of play! My dad used to work in the toy trade and we were never short of such things, as he used to pick up samples at trade fairs.

Oh, that's so sick, yeah the original figures are what I actually collect, I've had a bunch of them since I was really young, like 2, or 3, but a lot of them I've picked up over the years. When I was a kid the Power of The Force line was out, but I always liked the original Kenner ones.

I'm a good way towards having the original 77, and then I'm going to move on to the final 17, but I'm not looking forward to that due to the sheer amount those particular figures cost. Complete, the ones of the original can go for 30-75 ish, while the final 17 figures can be around 150 upwards loose.

I have four in their original packaging, the Rancor Keeper, Imperial Guard, Nikto and Squidhead. I also have a 90s chewie in his box, which is also signed by Peter Mayhew. I have a bunch of stuff.

Cool finds. I really don't have much Star Wars stuff apart from a couple of Lego kits. I wish I'd bought the toys back in the 70s. The Action Man stuff I bought instead is probably worth a lot less.

The new series about Jedi looks interesting. I'm working through The Bad Batch which will finish soon.

It depends on what you have to be fair, I have a Jeep from the '90s which is worth about 40+ and I have an eagle eyes and that's vintage and I assumed would be worth a fair bit, but it seems like 50ish is the asking price.

Actually, have you ever seen the PTSD action-man skit?

One thing I wish I did was put my Pokémon cards in a binder, I left mine in a plastic bag and I doubt they're worth anything due to that. I wish I bought some packs and left them sealed back when I was a kid, I could have made so much if I had.

I liked the first season of Bad Batch, but haven't had a chance to watch the newer season, I'm going to though, I like the characters in that show and it's an interesting idea. That era where the Republic is transitioning to the Empire is my favourite.

I see a load of toys in the 'emporium' places around here. I think there's a big nostalgia factor for collectors. I have a few of my old toys, but they have been played with and so are not immaculate.

Thanks, yeah it's a nice little haul, and all together cost less than 50 Euros, which is decent.
